Poor old Jason Momoa. For all the problems there were with that “Conan the Barbarian” reboot, he wasn’t one of them. The man mountain probably wouldn’t have been back for a sequel any time soon regardless, but now with Arnie out of retirement that’s one payday that will never come back around for him. Universal (the studio behind the previous two Arnie Conan films, but not the 2011 reboot) announced last year that they had reacquired the rights to the franchise and were planning “The Legend of Conan” with Arnold Schwarzenegger back as the Cimmerian warrior.

If the promo materials for “The Last Stand” are anything to go by, we don’t really know why anyone was excited about Arnold Schwarzenegger's return to acting. Although he was never renowned for his skills as an actor, it’s clear that age has caught up with the Austrian Oak. With the film's release date drawing closer, the studio has released a red-band trailer to pump up Arnie’s fans for the action in store.

Yesterday, if you had your eye on the Twittersphere, you may have noticed a handful of peeps tweeting about hanging out with Arnold Schwarzenegger as he drove around in a tank crushing cars. Apparently, a handful of journos were invited around to watch the aging actor engage in this activity as part of a promo thing for "The Last Stand." And while we didn't have the distinct pleasure of being there, we can only imagine it was more fun that the movie itself.

"I'm old," Arnold Schwarzenegger declares in this new trailer for "The Last Stand," and indeed he's gotten on in years since his action hero glory days. At 65 years old, his ass kicking days are fading fast, but he's still getting in a few shots at the bad guys as he gets set to return to his first leading man action role in a long, long time next month.

As we recently wrote, Gerard Butler could probably use a new agent by this point or maybe just a better sense of material. "Chasing Mavericks" opens this weekend with zero buzz, and it will likely be just as quickly forgotten as "Machine Gun Preacher" and probably the upcoming "Playing For Keeps." But the actor will change things up and kick off the New Year as....a leprechaun.

Big things were supposed to happen with Jason Momoa. In the spring of 2011, the actor was prematurely given the CinemaCon Rising Actor Award. Five months later, the R-rated "Conan The Barbarian" reboot opened and flopped hard, earning a paltry $48 million worldwide on a budget of $90 million. Next, Momoa will be seen grunting with Sylvester Stallone in the cheap-looking "Bullet To The Head," and as for Conan, it looked like the character was dead. But no property is every truly dead in Hollywood.

Alternatively known as "Breacher" or "Ten" throughout pre-production, it looks like the latter, more boring title is sticking. But the next effort in the Arnold Schwarzenegger comeback/post-Governator career -- which will kick off with his first leading role in years in "The Last Stand" next year -- finds him sticking to the action genre he knows. But the first pic of him in character from the set leaves us asking a lot of questions, starting with: is he in a ska band now?

The latest issue of Empire is simply overflowing with great material if you're a fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger. There's a major interview, "Working With Arnie"; a feature about his weapons of choice and one-liners; "Exploring Predator" an awesome in-depth play-by-play about his seminal alien-in-the-jungle picture; "Surviving Commando" a movie that the magazine calls his most off-the-chain; and "Arnie Killed Me," a column tracking down all the bit-actors who were offed by Arnie in his various films. If you are at all a Schwarzenegger fan, the issue is a must.

Ivan Reitman Says 'Ghostbusters' Should Be Remade & 'Twins' Sequel Is Nothing More Than A Press Release

“We have a way of doing it,” director Ivan Reitman insisted in January 2011 about a compelling way to make a third "Ghostbusters" film. “I wasn’t going to do it until we found out [what that way was], and it is a generational story, actually – it’s effectively a generational story and it’s very well written. We’ll see if it actually gets made. It’s a scary thing to think about for me, because I’m fucking with my past, but at the same time, I don’t just want to chicken out on the challenge. But it’s a great story and great characters.”

While the accountants in Hollywood spend Monday morning figuring out which movie came out on top in a tightly fought, though overall lukewarm weekend at the box office, no matter how it plays out, David Ayer will be happy. His latest cops-in-Los-Angeles flick "End Of Watch" took home decent notices, and was one of three angling for the #1 slot. And with his next cop movie "Breacher" gearing up to shoot in October, it already has a quote-worthy endorsement from its star Arnold Schwarzenegger.
