Break out the Ben Gay, because Sylvester Stallone is back with "The Expendables 2" and he's raided the action movie old folks home to dust off Arnold Schwarznegger and Chuck Norris and more to join his pals and young blood Liam Hemsworth in the last brawny flick.

If you removed Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger from the equation, the cast lining up for "The Tomb" seems like something that would fit a straight-to-DVD potboiler, instead of a teamup between two aging action icons. Either way, "The Tomb" is gonna be...weird.

Let's face it. Even if you weren't a fan of the first "Expendables" film, the normally fan-friendly Sylvester Stallone spit in the face of his fans, declaring "Expendables 2" a PG-13 affair, putting commerce before...we don't want to say art, but integrity sure fits. In a media age where there are entire blocks of channels dedicated to 24/7 children's, tween and teen programming, surely there was space for another R-rated action film. Action films provide thrills for all ages, but explosions, violence, and teeth-shattering carnage are best appreciated by adults that have lived a little, that have been places, garnered accomplishments. Perhaps those who are over seventeen. Megan Ellison knows what we're talking about.

Somewhere between “Get Carter” and “Shade” it seemed as though Sylvester Stallone’s career was over. Then, in 2006, he decided to revitalize the “Rocky” franchise and guess what? People loved it. A year later, he did the same with “Rambo.” Lightning doesn’t strike three times, right? It did for Stallone. He wisely left nothing to chance for the third go-around, and cast every B-movie action star for the mega action film “The Expendables.”

It all seemed too predictable: Arnold Schwarzenegger returning to his bread and butter with some cold, hard, violent justice. Following his small role in "The Expendables 2" and the lead in modern western "The Last Stand," the hulking legend was set to star in "Black Sands." From Scott Waugh and Mike McCoy, the directors of upcoming Navy Seals recruitment film actioner "Act of Valor," the script, from Skip Woods ("The A-Team," "Hitman") was being described as a cross between "Man On Fire" and "High Plains Drifter." And yet, suddenly, Arnie has flipped the script on all of us and gone into "End of Days" mode.

Listen. Carefully. On the wind. Can you hear something? A creak of bone. A distant cough. Someone complaining that they haven't taken their pills, asking if you remembered to record "NCIS," and saying how their grandkids are going to show them how to use the Google. That's right, Sylvester Stallone and his buddies are rolling back into town.
