While we didn't think much of the actual movie, one reason soundtrack and score fans might want to check out the film, is that it boasts brand new music from Atticus Ross alongside past collaborators, Claudia Sarne and Leopold Ross. The Oscar winner behind "The Social Network" score that he co-wrote with Trent Reznor, has been steadily been getting more cinema work, contributing to the team of talented musicians on the Mexican drama "Days Of Grace," and reteaming with Reznor on "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo." But this time around, he's giving folks a bit of a peek into his creative process.

At this point, Paul Dano has accomplished a lot in his still-young career. He's logged time with auteurs like Paul Thomas Anderson and Ang Lee, starred in strong indie comedies like "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Ruby Sparks," gone the blockbuster route with "Cowboys & Aliens" and "Knight And Day," and last year, he dipped his toe into heady sci-fi with Rian Johnson's "Looper." From to drama to romance to comedy, he's done it all (except maybe horror), but now he's tasked with the tremendous responsibility of playing one of music history's most beloved and influential writers and performers.

We haven't paid attention to the Grammys in years, mostly because it's irrelevant, these days we're barely familiar with half the nominees, and the show is usually pure tedium. (Don't even get us started on that Beach Boys tribute thing last year.) But for movie buffs looking to maintain their awards season high, yesterday's announcement of Grammy nominees did bring with it some films that are looking to collect gold from their pals in the music biz.

If things had gone according to plan, Keanu Reeves' "47 Ronin" would already be in theaters. But a troubled production has seen the movie's release date get bumped twice, as reshoots took place and the studio got involved with the editing process. Not always a good sign. And there are still more changes to come.

With his next scoring gig on "47 Ronin" delayed as that film moves yet again, this time to Christmas Day 2013, Atticus Ross has a bit of extra time on his hands. And it looks like he's going to help out an old friend.

While Atticus Ross is best known for his collaborations with Trent Reznor in Nine Inch Nails and of course on the soundtracks for "The Social Network" (which won them an Oscar) and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," he has ventured out on his own on more than one occassion. He has worked close with the Hughes Brothers, scoring their TV series "Touching Evil" (alongside his wife and brother, Claudia Sarne and Leopold Ross) as well as "The Book of Eli" and Albert's segment in "New York, I Love You." Ross also contributed to the excellent array of talent on the "Days of Grace" soundtrack. Well, he's once again striking out with a solo gig, and and it's one helluva blockbuster project.

"Mexico City. 2002, 2006, 2010. A cop. A hostage. A wife. Corruption, violence, vengeance. Three destinies, during 30 days, during three Soccer World Cups. Three ways to fight in order to survive." This is the synopsis of "Days Of Grace." Starring Eva Longoria, Carlos Bardem (Javier's brother), Miguel Rodarte and Paulina Gaitan, while writer/Director Everardo Gout's first feature doesn't have a U.S. release date yet (it screened out of competition at Cannes last year), it does have a rather interesting soundtrack worth noting and maybe that'll give it extra attention.

As expected, the end of the week has brought the full reveal of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" soundtrack, and it's a doozy. Featuring nearly three hours of music, spanning three CDs and 6 LPs, you're gonna have to clear some room on your iPod or on your shelf if you're picking up the physical copies. And as we guessed, this one is coming in number of formats, all courtesy of Trent Reznor's Null Corporation.

"The Movie With The Endless Marketing." Yeah, listen, we get it. The stories on the next effort from David Fincher seem to be endless, but when it's based one of the biggest-selling books of the last few years, promises a hard R-rated procedural in the midst of the holiday season and a potential star-making turn by Rooney Mara, it's hard not to be excited. And oh yeah, add to that a brand new score from Oscar-winning duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, and well, what else do you want us to do?
