Okay, so there's no tracklist yet and details are still being firmed up, but dammit, it's something. "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" soundtrack will hit everywhere outside North America via Mute Records, as the film's composer Trent Reznor tweeted last night. And well, that's about it. No release date has been revealed.

It might be one of the most anticipated movies of the year, but we're still relatively in the dark about David Fincher's version of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo." There was that attention-grabbing poster of course, and a perfectly-edited teaser trailer, but there's still a lot to come for the R-rated studio-funded version of a mystery tale that's already proven a giant hit both in Stieg Larsson's original novels, and in the Swedish trilogy of films, which launched Noomi Rapace to international stardom.

Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Atticus Ross & Shigeru Umebayashi Team For ScoreIt's pretty much impossible -- unless you are willing to completely forgo eating and sleeping -- to see everything at the Cannes Film Festival and there are always one or two films that you once you're back at home you regret having missed. And for us, that film is the Mexican thriller and midnight movie selection, "Days Of Grace." We were taken with the excellent trailer for the film and now that the soundtrack and score details have surfaced, we're kicking ourselves for not finding a way to work it into our schedule.

Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Scoring David Fincher's 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo'

David Fincher's "The Social Network" has been praised and well, maybe not entirely loved, in many circles, but all seem to be in agreement that the film sounded unlike anything released in 2010, thanks to the pulsating and moody electronic score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The Nine Inch Nails bandmates designed an aural soundscape that made the Harvard campus in 2003 feel like an alien planet, and Fincher seems gracious enough to understand Reznor was integral to that success. As a result, Reznor looks to be onboard "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo."
