Scott McNairy, Dawn of Justice
Scoot McNairy is the best actor right now that no one has heard of. Incredibly versatile, deeply talented and something of a chameleon too, he's quietly racked up a CV of films that includes Gareth Edwards' breakout "Monsters," Andrew Dominik's "Killing Them Softly," Gus Van Sant's "Promised Land," Steve McQueen's "12 Years A Slave," David Michôd's "The Rover," the upcoming "Frank," and that has all led to a starring role in the new AMC series "Halt & Catch Fire." And now, McNairy is making the blockbuster leap.

The super heros arms race is on like it’s never been on before. Warner Bros. is trying to use their D.C. Comics properties and catch up with Marvel studios. Hell, every studio is trying to replicate their success with super team-ups of some kind. And hell, it’s working: look at “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” a storyline that teams the classic “X-Men” movie characters with the new rebooted “X-Men: First Class”-era of movie characters. That movie has easily gone on to surpass all the over X-Men movies at the box office by a huge margin ($210 million: ‘Days Of Future Past’ is on track to surpass the $700 million mark globally). So, really, why wouldn’t you try and do the same? Especially if you’re a studio suit watching the bottom line.

As was revealed a few days ago, Warner Bros have big plans for their DC Comics superhero films. Last year's "Man Of Steel" kicked off their current iteration of the DC-verse, but it's 2016's "Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" that will really kick off the studio's answer to Marvel's wildly successful pictures. The movie looks to be the first in a run of as many as three movies a year, and aside from Henry Cavill's Superman, will also introduce Ben Affleck's Batman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, and Cyborg, played by Ray Fisher.

Marvel Vs. DC
A simple, but terrific (and possibly frightening) observation has been made by our friends over at Rope Of Silicon: over the next four years, if everything goes according to plan for every studio, we're going to see twenty-three (count ‘em) super hero films. Because, as you know, the comic book movie arms race is officially on.

If you're one of Hollywood's most legendary gossip-mongers, forced to sit in your hands for months by a non-compete clause before launching your own self-titled website, you'd better come back with a doozy of a scoop. Fortunately, that's what Nikki Finke has done. The much-feared, much-ridiculed writer debuted her new NikkiFinke.com site earlier today, and has followed it up with a pretty huge story: the details of Warner Bros.' plans for their DC Comics movies, which the studio were planning to reveal at Comic-Con.

When Warner Bros. moved "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" to 2016, we always knew it would mean two years of speculation and rumors. What we didn't know is that Kevin Smith, of all people, would be the biggest mouthpiece out of the gate. The best bro of Ben Affleck, has already sounded off that we might see multiple batsuits and vehicles for the Caped Crusader, and now he's teasing WB's entire vision for their DC Comics' properties.

If Warner Bros. could, they'd open "Justice League" tomorrow given than they're so far behind the competition in the superhero race. But they are building toward that, first with the "Man Of Steel" sequel set to drop in 2016. And it now has an official title.

Kevin Smith, Batman
If we’ve learned anything at all from Zack Snyder’s upcoming “Batman Vs. Superman” movie, perhaps one of the most fascinating is that Ben Affleck is still friends with Kevin Smith. They were bros before Oscars and prestige I guess, and they still are, so that’s cool. Anyhow, Smith seems to have had the inside scoop on “Batman Vs. Superman” for some months now due to his friendship with the Academy Award winner.
