Man of Steel, Snyder, set
We always knew that Warner Bros. were planning "Justice League," but nothing was concrete. Last summer there were rumors that "The Flash" would drop in 2016, followed by "Justice League" a year later, but with "Batman Vs. Superman" now taking the '16 slot, that doesn't seem likely (not to mention that whispers of a movie around "The Flash' seem to have quieted). But today, WB has pulled the curtain back (somewhat) on their plans.

Cyborg
Just prior to "Man Of Steel" hitting theatres last summer, writer David S. Goyer gave fans a little nugget of the world building he had dropped into the script. "We mentioned S.T.A.R. Labs at one point, that's kind of a connection to Cyborg," he explained at the time, and then we all kind of forgot about it. But today comes a reminder as the role has been cast, and "Batman Vs. Superman" just got bigger by one more hero.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
When Warner Bros. moved "Batman Vs. Superman" to May 6, 2016—against a then-untitled Marvel movie—it seemed like a confident jab at their competitors. When "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" opened to massive numbers, and "Captain America 3" was revealed as Marvel's mystery movie, suddenly WB's plans seemed ill advised. But perhaps they know something about the status of the third movie that no one else does?

Zack Snyder, Watchmen, Gilliam
Forbes has a new interview with director Zack Snyder. You know, the guy that’s directing possibly the most geek-anticipated film of all time, “Batman Vs. Superman.” Don’t get too excited, Snyder reveals almost zero details. He doesn’t talk Ben Affleck, Lex Luthor, the Justice League or anything. Perhaps more interestingly he discusses his beef with Terry Gilliam over “Watchmen.”

Hans Zimmer
"Quite honestly, I’ve gotta sit down with Zack [Snyder] and have a chat with him about what he’s trying to do because what I don’t want to do is go back to that well," Hans Zimmer said last fall, when asked if would return to score "Batman Vs. Superman." "It’s a different Batman; Christian Bale and what I did with Chris, that needs to have its autonomous life. I don’t want to go and now appropriate that and put that into the other Batman.”

superman and batman
Won't someone please think of the children! Given some the comments flying around Twitter, you'd think that Warner Bros. was committing a capital crime by scheduling "Batman Vs. Superman" opposite "Captain America 3" on May 6, 2016. Providing something of a Sophie's Choice for comic nerds on opening weekend, right now, neither WB or Marvel are budging, in a weird game of chest-puffing that will inevitably end in someone shifting dates anyway, because it doesn't make any financial sense not to (why cannibalize your all important opening weekend audience?). But before that happens, more schoolyard taunting will have to happen.

Holly Hunter Dr. Leslie Thompkins
Whatever your opinion on Zack Snyder's "Man Of Steel," you certainly can't fault his casting, with the director rounding up some impressive actors for his blockbuster superhero flick. And he's continuing that with the sequel, "Batman Vs. Superman" (or whatever it winds up being called). Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons and Gal Gadot are already joining the returning cast of Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and Diane Lane, and in recent days, Holly Hunter also boarded the project. But, as with most things surrounding the movie, her role was kept under wraps, but word is already percolating about what it might be.

David S. Goyer, D.C.
Connecting universes is cool these days, but only insofar as that a billion dollars is cooler than a million dollars. Proof in the pudding? With the release of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become the highest grossing franchise of all time domestically, beating both the "Star Wars" and "Harry Potter" series.

Holly Hunter Jackie
Zack Snyder's "Batman Vs. Superman" is certainly shaping with an intriguing cast, that had you told us this last year, we probably wouldn't have believed you. Of course, Henry Cavill is back in the cape and Ben Affleck will wear the cowl, and they'll be surrounded by a roster that includes Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane and Gal Gadot. And now three more are coming aboard.

Captain America 3, Superman Vs. Batman
It looks like two major Hollywood studios are pulling down their pants and seeing whose comic book dick is bigger. When Warner Bros. postponed the 2015 release of "Batman Vs. Superman" and moved it to 2016, they did so by choosing a weekend that Marvel had already planted their flag on: May 6, 2016. At the time, Marvel hadn't yet announced what that movie will be. And even recently, Kevin Feige played coy, saying they would reveal the title "in the next few months.” Well, we got the news a lot sooner.
