Gal Gadot
From Jennifer Lawrence sharing her stories about producers telling her she needs to lose weight, to websites seemingly devoted to nothing but shots of sideboobs or actresses or musicians parting their legs as they step out of a car, being a woman in the biz brings with it a whole bizarre set of baggage. But in case you need a bit more evidence of how surreal it can all get, let's turn to Israeli entertainment show, "Good Evening with Guy Pines."

How The 'Avengers'-Izing Of Blockbusters Is Killing Movies
Is it enough to just make one movie anymore? In the wake of Marvel’s audacious world-building in an assembly line of completely indistinguishable adventure movies, the studios would answer no. What used to be one series of movies has become a web, one that involves various other series’ and offshoots of one particular brand.

Casting a superhero movie isn't just about finding the right person for the role (though that is a big part of it). It involves finding an actor or actress who will be fine with a production (and post-production) schedule that will run months upon months long, who will tolerate acting against green screens and most importantly, will grin and bear it through a press cycle that will have every media outlet on the planet grilling them about a project they have to (usually) keep secret about. So while it's fun to imagine Joaquin Phoenix being a villain in "Batman Vs. Superman," all we'll say is: fat chance.

The most entertaining aspect of “Batman vs. Superman,” thus far, has been the fan reaction. The announcement of the project itself caused quite a stir, but when it was revealed Ben Affleck would play Batman, all hell broke loose… on the internet. Things seemed to have calmed down since, though the announcement that Wonder Woman would also be appearing in the film was also quite a surprise. Regardless, Warner Brothers and DC Comics remain unfettered, as they have just announced that Jason Momoa (“Conan the Barbarian”) is currently in negotiations to join the cast as well.

Gal Gadot
Sometimes rumored names are just that, mentioned in passing never to be heard of again. But Gal Gadot has been on the tip of tongues for at least a month now. And now she's getting the role of a lifetime.

Ben Affleck, To The Wonder
Zack Snyder’s currently untitled Batman Vs. Superman project doesn’t hit screens until summer 2015. That’s basically a year and six months from now, but you’ll probably be hearing a little nugget about it every single day until its July 17th, 2015 release date. The latest? Ben Affleck sat down for a long interview with Mike Flemming for Playboy (via Latino Review) and the Deadliner got some decent Batman questions in. While Affleck danced around answers, some replies were interesting. When asked how Affleck’s take on Batman will differ from Christian Bale’s Batman, the “Argo” actor/director didn’t really answer, but said his version wouldn’t “compete” with the “The Dark Knight” trilogy that came before it.

superman and batman
We know what Warner Bros.' tentatively titled “Batman Vs. Superman” is about. Tired, aged and embittered Batman faces off against, younger, more naïve Superman (we kinda guessed as much in the early days). Their moral codes are already at odds. Batman more akin to vigilante, Superman skewing closer to every day hero (though like we said, expect Batman to exploit the fact that Superman killed Zod). While not a direct adaptation of Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Rises” graphic novel, the friction between the two heroes—essentially the differences in said values—is the perfect jumping off point for “Batman Vs. Superman.”
