Aaron Johnson & Taylor Kitsch Look Set To StarIt's kind of funny how things work sometimes. Last month when Jennifer Lawrence first entered talks to star in Oliver Stone's "Savages," a handful of other names were mentioned for roles at the time including Benicio Del Toro. In subsequent reports -- including the announcement of Lawrence's departure due to "The Hunger Games" -- his name again seemed to be absent, but lo and behold he's the one left standing.

Way back in December it was announced that Benicio Del Toro, Laurent Cantet (”The Class”), Gaspar Noé (”Enter the Void”), Pablo Trapero (”Carancho”), Elia Suleiman, Julio Medem (”Sex and Lucia”) and Juan Carlos Tabio were teaming up to direct segments for the forthcoming omnibus film "7 Days In Havana," and it looks like production is moving forward and the first bit of casting has been revealed.

THR reports that actor Benicio Del Toro is set to narrate an upcoming documentary on Jamaican reggae legend Lee "Scratch" Perry by Ethan Higbee and Adam Bhala Lough which will premiere in Los Angeles on March 25th.

We're sure our kids won't believe us when we tell them, decades from now, but once upon a time, Johnny Depp was an oddball character actor. Sure, he'd occasionally take a studio paycheck gig, like "Nick of Time" and "The Astronaut's Wife," but for the most part, his career was made up of interesting projects with acclaimed directors with Jim Jarmusch, Sally Potter and Roman Polanski being among his collaborators.

We just got off the e-horn with Martin Scorsese's publicist. While Vulture is partly correct that Scorsese is once again attached to "The Wolf of Wall Street" with Leonardo DiCaprio, the New York blog only has half the picture down. That drama about the rise and fall of Wall Street stockbroker Jordan Belfort is not next, nor is it shooting this summer.

Don't be confused. This isn't the film about the same guy -- mob hitman Richard Kulinski -- that Mickey Rourke was linked to earlier in the fall. Instead, this one is based off the biography by Anthony Bruno and it has attracted some strong names to the project.

A little more than ten days after the Farrelly Brothers said "there is no leader in the clubhouse” quashing early casting rumors regarding Johnny Knoxville and Andy Samberg for their upcoming and long-gestating "The Three Stooges" outing, an actor long associated with the film is apparently still very much in contention.
