The Black List
So do you want to know which scripts every agent in Hollywood is currently working the phones trying to get their hands on? Take a look below. Today the folks behind The Black List took to Twitter and (somewhat tediously) revealed the finalists of the 2013 list one by one. Well, they've all been compiled and while we await some kind of synopses to know what they are all about, there are still a couple that stick out anyway.

One of the cannier inventions of the movie world in the last decade or so is The Black List, set up by Franklin Leonard, at the time an junior executive at Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way company. Appropriating one of Hollywood's greatest shames (the banning from work of professionals -- mostly screenwriters -- with communist leanings) for good, with the intention of highlighting the best unmade scripts from Hollywood, Leonard polled executives for the best things they'd read that year, launching the first list in 2005.

Here's an idea for 2013 -- no more tweeting awards or nominations. Seriously. This year has seen various critics guilds spend pretty much all day voting or announcing their winners on Twitter, and now the Black List has followed suit, by spending some time today tweeting (out of order, mind you) the "most liked" unmade scripts of the year. It's called a press release, guys. Anyway, they finally have revealed the full slate from top to bottom and there are some interesting titles. And why should you care? Well, movies like "Slumdog Millionaire" and "The King's Speech" once placed on here, and while the names might not be known right now, these are guys and gals who will be rising in the next few years.

Julian Assange, This Is Where You Step In Yesterday brought the unveiling of the Black List, the annual collection of the most popular as-yet-unproduced scripts in Hollywood, which tends to somewhat set the agenda for the next couple of years of non-tentpole movies: the likes of "Juno" and "The Social Network" have topped it in previous years and gone on to immense success, and virtually every studio-backed indie crossover hit has made its way onto the list in the past few years.
