Black Sails
Not content to blowing things up on the big screen, Michael Bay has his eyes set on our television sets. First unveiled last year, “Black Sails” is set to finally premiere this Saturday on Starz but since you might have better things to do that night, you can catch the entire first episode for free at your leisure.

With "Pain & Gain" dropping next week, and work starting on "Transformers 4" very soon, you might think that Micheal Bay's plate is plenty full. You would be wrong. The director has also found some time to put on his executive producing hat (reminder: his Platinum Dunes shingle is also behind the upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles") and head to the small screen for "Black Sails." Yes, it's a TV show about pirates, and it pretty much looks like what you might expect a Michael Bay-produced TV show about pirates to look like.

Thanks to Johnny Depp, pirates successfully staged a comeback on the big screen during the course of the last decade. Not content with that, they now look set to conquer the small screen too. NBC are busy prepping their pirates series “Crossbones,” Fox are working on a couple of projects, and back in May Starz announced that they has issued a straight-to-series order for a new pirate adventure drama called “Black Sails” with Michael Bay exec producing. Who wouldn’t want to see a pirate show from Michael Bay, right?

It's lesser known that, when not filling his daily machismo quotient filming “Pain and Gain” with Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg, Michael Bay prefers to return to his quiet seaside villa, put on his best Robert Evans hat, and produce. If you've sat through any horror remake credits of the past few years, you'll see Bay's had success at it too, but now he's looking to conquer premium cable with a new swashbuckling series in the works.
