Bob Dylan’s ‘Like a Rolling Stone
In case you’re unaware, Columbia Records are currently pimping The Bob Dylan Complete Album Collection Vol. One which encompasses the entire official discography of this legendary American songwriter (random: best music documentary ever? Scorsese’s “No Direction Home” has to be up there). Its breadth is staggering including all of his 41 official albums, including 14 newly remastered titles plus a 2CD compilation of songs not included on the original LPs, plus amazing artwork etc. It’s a Dylan lover’s wet dream (and as someone who already owns like half those records, this writer feels like buying it anyhow). While he's gone from a stoner coming-of-age tale to a cancer comedy to this weekend's zombie rom-com "Warm Bodies," one thing that has marked the the films of Jonathan Levine have been a keen ear on the soundtrack. And that's not different with this latest effort, which serves up a pretty solid selection of tracks to go with the undead.

Nash Edgerton is a man of many hats. A stuntman and coordinator of some reknown who has worked on everything from "The Matrix" trilogy to "The Thin Red Line" to "Moulin Rouge!", he's also a filmmaker, likely best known for the thriller "The Square" but also earned strong notices for his recent short, "Bear." But it appears he has a friend in Bob Dylan as well. Little did we know, but he's directed two videos for the legend already, "Must Be Santa Claus" and "Beyond Here Lies Nothin,' " and now a third has arrived.

There is probably no musician both as famous and as mercurial and engimatic as Bob Dylan, which ironically has made his life and work a popular source of inspiration for movies. Of course, Todd Haynes attempted to encapsulate as many of the fragments of Dylan's life as he could in "I'm Not There" with multiple actors portraying the man, and a bevy of musicians covering his tunes. But there is still so much more to tell and explore, and now, a fascinating new project will take on the musican from an entirely different angle altogether.

Renée Zellweger is on a box office losing streak, the likes of which we haven't seen, from a formerly celebrated star and Oscar nominee, in a long time. Her last few starring vehicles -- "New In Town," "My One And Only," "Case 39" -- have been dead-on-arrival at the box office and you'd have to go way, way back to her "Bridget Jones" pictures to find anything resembling success (yes, "Cinderella Man" earned lots of critical acclaim but it failed at the box office and she is not the selling point of that film either). And unfortunately for the actress, the rut will continue.
