While the accountants in Hollywood spend Monday morning figuring out which movie came out on top in a tightly fought, though overall lukewarm weekend at the box office, no matter how it plays out, David Ayer will be happy. His latest cops-in-Los-Angeles flick "End Of Watch" took home decent notices, and was one of three angling for the #1 slot. And with his next cop movie "Breacher" gearing up to shoot in October, it already has a quote-worthy endorsement from its star Arnold Schwarzenegger.

With "The Expendables" and "Red" bringing the old people B-movie thing back into vogue, and while those films wink at '80s action movie conventions, "Dan Mintner: Badass For Hire" drives a truck through them. And who better to get on board than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson?

While Ridley Scott puts the production of "The Counselor" on hold in the wake of his brother Tony Scott's death, when cameras start rolling again we can look for another face in those set pics: Goran Visnjic. With the "E.R." actor booking a role on the upcoming ABC drama "Red Widow," it has also been revealed he's joined Ridley Scott film as well, although his role hasn't been disclosed. Penned by Cormac McCarthy, the story follows a prosecutor who dabbles in dealing drugs to earn a quick buck and gets in way over his head. First, recently renamed Arnold Schwarzenegger project “Breacher” (formerly “Ten”) – which will see the muscleman joined by writer-director David Ayer and co-stars Sam Worthington, Terrence Howard, Joe Manganiello and Dawn Olivieri – has found a way to inject some more estrogen into the project in the form of actress Malin Akerman (“Watchmen,” “Wanderlust”). Akerman is currently in negotiations to join this hard-boiled crime iteration of mystery writer Agatha Christie’s “Ten Little Indians,” with the film set to follow the tale of an elite DEA task force who rob an underground drug cartel while operating under the guise of a warranted raid. They think they’re in the clear, until they all start being bumped off one-by-one. Akerman will lend her acting chops to the DEA team in Ayer’s latest cop drama/thriller picture.

It's likely just a matter of time before Joe Manganiello becomes a big deal on the big screen. The "True Blood" star was in the final batch of contenders to lead Zack Snyder's "Man Of Steel," and this summer he showed that his big physique was just as capable of delivering laughs in Steven Soderbergh's "Magic Mike." Now it looks like Manganiello's imposing bod will get another shot at proving he's multiplex muscle as the actor is gearing up to join a fast-moving cop thriller.

The acting comeback trail for former California Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger has been a bumpy one marred by a scandal (which seems to have been forgotten), an attempt at a completely self-indulgent cartoon, but mostly just a dearth of solid projects worthy of bringing the lumbering talent back to the screen. One project has been shaping up quite nicely, with writer-director David Ayer (“Training Day,” “End of Watch”) behind the camera of police thriller (shocker) “Breacher.” Previously known as “Ten,” the film will follow 10 DEA agents who are marked for death following a heist during an drug enforcement operation. The production recently added Sam Worthington in an undisclosed role, and now has two more recognizable faces to add to the mix.
