After becoming a hit at Sundance and South by Southwest (our review called it "impressive and charming", Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut, the porn addiction comedy "Don Jon," finally has a trailer. And judging by the brief glimpse at the movie, it's easy to see why audiences went loony for this – it looks pretty damn charming, with Levitt leading a amazing cast (including Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, Tony Danza, and Brie Larson) and an original, totally identifiable take on the modern romantic comedy.

It’s Nate’s (Rami Malek) first day at the adolescent foster care facility Short Term 12, and his new coworker Mason (John Gallagher Jr., scruffy and soulful) is regaling the staff with a silly monologue about an unfortunate sharting incident he suffered in the line of duty. It's a funny tale, but it also lays out exactly what kind of people these workers are, willing to forego all bodily comfort in order to make sure these kids are okay. They’re a no nonsense bunch who’ve seen it all and remain unflappable, particularly supervisor Grace (Brie Larson), a steely and impenetrable young woman.

It hasn't been an easy ride for the critically loved, but mainstream-ignored "Community." After NBC put season three on a hiatus midstream, many wondered if the show would even return. And while it has (losing creator Dan Harmon, bitterly, in the process), it has come in the form of a shortened, thirteen episode season four, which seems to indicate it's the last gasp for the program. And the woes for the show may not be over, as the network are still trying to figure out what do with it.

While featuring a promising cast of on-the-rise newcomers and comedy veterans, a strong production design, plus a visual aesthetic that proves digital cinematography can be warm and capture light in a pleasing autumnal manner, the one-dimensional indie flick "Tanner Hall," has almost nothing else to redeem it.

Considering it's the kind of project that we'd normally run a mile from (namely, a big-budget remake of a 1980s TV show that no one really gives a shit about), we're curiously optimistic about "21 Jump Street." Like the show, which launched the career of Johnny Depp, the movie will focus on a group of fresh-faced cops who go undercover in a high school, but the new version is an R-rated action-comedy take on the material, described as "Bad Boys" meets "John Hughes."
