Meet Jason Keller, the last honest man in Hollywood. The writer recently attended the premiere of "Machine Gun Preacher" and the party hearty Vulture were there in attendance and couldn't help but ask Keller about the still untitled Snow White movie he penned for Relativity. You know, the one that has been competing bitterly with Universal's "Snow White And The Huntsman" over release dates, with Relativity so desperate to come out on top first that Tarsem is already filming for a release date of March 16, 2012. That's right, he's got less than a year to crank this sucker out. And according to Keller, when he was first hired in December last year, Relativity were so hungry to get things rolling that they started getting production departments open before he had even finished the script.

First, with Tarsem Singh's Snow White movie scheduled to come out next spring, can we get a title already? Having to write "The Untitled Snow White Movie" or "The Project Formerly Known As 'The Brothers Grimm: Snow White'" is getting a bit irritating. Second, where can we get that dress?

"Snow White and the Huntsmen" seems to have all the buzz, adding multiple actors as the dwarves in separate announcements over the past few days. By increasing the film's pre-production profile, the picture vaulted over the surprisingly buzzless untitled "Snow White" film currently shooting under director Tarsem Singh, and slated for a release almost three months earlier. While the film boasts Julia Roberts as the wicked queen menacing Lily Collins as our heroine, Armie Hammer as the dashing Prince Alcott and Nathan Lane as the oh god stop right there you're sold on Lane. Fortunately, it does appear that the Singh project will have that extra shot of awesomeness that 'Huntsman' cannot boast.

This week showcased an unusual nexus between the Memorial Day blockbuster weekend and the close of the Cannes Film Festival. So, naturally, it makes sense that there would be a certain level of inactivity. But if you thought that, you don’t know The Playlist.

So Universal and Relativity are playing a game of chicken with the release dates on their dueling "Snow White" projects, right? Wanna know how Relativity is serious about their just announced March 16, 2012 release date which gives them all of ten months to shoot, edit and prepare the film for release?

Like two drunken frat boys engaged in a pissing match for bragging rights, Universal and Relativity have been fighting it out over their competing Snow White movies both set to hit next year. In one corner, we have “Snow White and the Huntsman" with Chris Hemsworth as the huntsman, Charlize Theron set to play the evil queen, Kristen Stewart as Snow White, and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” star Sam Clafin as the prince. In the other corner, we have Tarsem's untitled Snow White movie with Julia Roberts, Armie Hammer, Lily Collins, Nathan Lane and Robert Emms. Originally, Tarsem's film was set to be released on June 29, 2012, with Universal's picture coming arriving in December. But last week, Universal announced they were moving their film all the way up to June 1st and switching out their film with Judd Apatow's forthcoming "Knocked Up" spin off, which they bumped to the end of the year. But it looks like Relativity now has the last laugh.

Judd Apatow's 'Knocked Up' Spin-Off Now Set For December 21st, 2012 Every so often, Hollywood studios find themselves in a game of $300 million chicken, when two films with strikingly similar premises are green-lit simultaneously. And almost invariably, the first film out of the blocks ends up as the more successful: "Capote" landed a full year before the identically-plotted "Infamous," and despite a less starry cast walked away with more awards and a bigger haul, while "Dante's Peak" outgrossed the similarly lava-themed "Volcano" by over $50 million.

While the rival Universal project "Snow White and the Huntsman" is still looking for a male lead, Relativity and Tarsem Singh continue to pad out the cast for their film which will hit theaters first.

At the end of last week, Relativity announced that Lily Collins had landed the plum role in Tarsem Singh's upcoming take on Snow White (formerly known as "Brothers Grimm: Snow White"). The actress broke out in 2009 opposite Sandra Bullock in "The Blind Side" and has lined up a number of high profile upcoming films including the Taylor Lautner thriller "Abduction" as well "Mortal Instruments." But for Tarsem, who we caught up with at WonderCon where he was promoting the forthcoming "Immortals," maybe it was something else entirely that captured his attention.
