Jeremy Renner, Hawkeye
Jeremy Renner is going to be very busy for the next year. The actor has started shooting “Mission: Impossible 5” with Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie (he’s still part of the team even though it wasn’t properly announced) and next summer he’ll be shooting the fifth, as-yet-untitled ‘Bourne’ movie for a summer 2016 release.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice
It was the biggest pissing match of 2016: both Warner Bros. and Marvel put their big money tentpoles—"Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" and "Captain America 3"—on the same date, May 6, 2016. Both refused to budge, but as expected, there was no way two major superhero movies were going to open on the same day, and WB has blinked first.

Man, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige wasn’t kidding when he said Marvel had mapped out their Marvel Cinematic Universe up through 2028.

Marvel Studios
"Here we are now, 14 years since the first Marvel movie I worked on. At that point it had been eight years and for about those eight years people had been asking ‘How much longer gonna last?’ ‘When are people gonna get tired of these movies?' And my answer always was ‘People only get tired if a whole slew of terrible ones come out’. And it was our job to make sure that doesn’t happen," Marvel honco Kevin Feige said last week. "If there are other people out there interested in that not happening as well, I’m all for it!" And while there have been patchy superhero movies (see Sony's "The Amazing Spider-Man" for example), for Marvel at least, they've kept the quality level mostly consistent, so why not continue?

Batman Vs. Superman Ben Affleck Batman
While Kevin Feige has enough to talk about when it comes to the forthcoming "Guardians Of The Galaxy," it seems much of his press time of late has been spent explaining what the heck has been going on with "Ant-Man." And then over his shoulder are his rivals at D.C. Comics who coming hard in 2016 with "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice." But Feige feels no ill toward his fellow purveyors of comic book cinema, and he credits the success they've achieved so far.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
When Warner Bros. moved "Batman Vs. Superman" to May 6, 2016—against a then-untitled Marvel movie—it seemed like a confident jab at their competitors. When "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" opened to massive numbers, and "Captain America 3" was revealed as Marvel's mystery movie, suddenly WB's plans seemed ill advised. But perhaps they know something about the status of the third movie that no one else does?

superman and batman
Won't someone please think of the children! Given some the comments flying around Twitter, you'd think that Warner Bros. was committing a capital crime by scheduling "Batman Vs. Superman" opposite "Captain America 3" on May 6, 2016. Providing something of a Sophie's Choice for comic nerds on opening weekend, right now, neither WB or Marvel are budging, in a weird game of chest-puffing that will inevitably end in someone shifting dates anyway, because it doesn't make any financial sense not to (why cannibalize your all important opening weekend audience?). But before that happens, more schoolyard taunting will have to happen.

Captain America 1950s
The general public has barely been able to catch a glimpse of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” (thought the first ten minutes of the movie are right here) and yet we are already talking about the third Captain America movie. Last week, we learned that “Captain America 3” would get released on May 6th, 2016 which created a lot of buzz since it’s the same release date of the upcoming Batman/Superman film. And while plot details regarding future Marvel films usually tend be fairly tight-lipped, some interesting info regarding “Captain America 3” has recently been leaked to the public, thanks to screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Captain America 3, Superman Vs. Batman
It looks like two major Hollywood studios are pulling down their pants and seeing whose comic book dick is bigger. When Warner Bros. postponed the 2015 release of "Batman Vs. Superman" and moved it to 2016, they did so by choosing a weekend that Marvel had already planted their flag on: May 6, 2016. At the time, Marvel hadn't yet announced what that movie will be. And even recently, Kevin Feige played coy, saying they would reveal the title "in the next few months.” Well, we got the news a lot sooner.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Marvel already knows "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is going to be a success, and back in January, they started development on the inevitable third movie, rehiring directors Anthony and Joe Russo for "Captain America 3." And as you might expect, with press rounds beginning for 'The Winter Soldier,' the sibling directors will be asked about the next installment, but anyone looking for details might be disappointed as they're still figuring it all out.
