Captain Phillips, Tom Hanks
This summer, one of the underrated highlights at the arthouse was Tobias Lindholm's "A Hijacking." It told the fictional tale of a ship taken over by Somali pirates, and the psychological toll it takes on both the hostages and company negotiating for the ship and the lives of the men on board. One of the most striking aspects of the film was that it kept the violence out of frame — most notably, the actual hijacking itself — humanizing both perpetrators and the victims all in one go. Granted, with Paul Greengrass at the helm of "Captain Phillips," one wouldn't expect he'd have the same approach but for those worried it would a one-sided tale, this new trailer reveals that's not the case.

It has been three years since Paul Greengrass' last film, the lukewarm "Green Zone," and while in the interim there was much chatter about another return to 'Bourne,' the director himself has buckled down and hit the open water for his next effort "Captain Phillips," and damn, does it ever look good.

Catherine Keener makes anything she stars in better, and even an A-list star like Tom Hanks can benefit by having her hang off his arm.

So, we guess it's happening then. First announced over the summer under its earlier title "Maersk Alabama" with Paul Greengrass to direct and Tom Hanks to star, not much was heard since and we began to wonder if it was yet another project stuck in development for the director. But nope, that's not the case at all as Sony has earmarked the film, now titled "Captain Phillips," for a March 22, 2013 release.
