Michael Fassbender Joins Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus' With Noomi Rapace

Breaking. Michael Fassbender has joined Noomi Rapace as the second official star of Ridley Scott's "Prometheus." Fassbender's devastating turn in the 2008 drama "Hunger" still keeps paying dividends for the 34-year-old of German/Irish descent. After smaller 2009 turns in "Inglourious Basterds," and "Jonah Hex," plus the lead in "Centurion," Fassbender's career has finally hit top speed in the last six months landing the lead in "X-Men: First Class," a coveted part in Steven Soderbergh's "Haywire," and now a major spot in Ridley Scott's sci-film that was once set to be a prequel to his 1979 classic "Alien," but now seems to have morphed into something entirely different though seemingly still within that universe (it is said to have "Alien DNA" within it, but loglines are being kept under wraps).

Vulture reports the actress, who even Clint Eastwood believed would be joining his upcoming biopic "J. Oh boy, it's probably not going to be a great morning for Charlize Theron's PR rep. Last night, news broke that Theron had left Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar" in favor of taking a look at a the lead role, freshly rewritten with her in mind, in Ridley Scott's developing "Alien" prequel. But it appears that's not all that's cooking for the suddenly-very-in-demand actress.

Newcomers Bella Heathcote and Alicia Vikander Also Linked To Role It's been a few months since there was any news on the duelling 'Snow White' projects set up at Universal and Relativity -- the former has newcomer Rupert Sanders attached to direct, the latter visual stylist Tarsem, and while both have had names rumored to be involved, no solid word has come out for some time. But suddenly, the floodgates have opened, with news coming in last night that Relativity want Julia Roberts to play the evil queen in their project, "The Brothers Grimm: Snow White," while, as rumored, Charlize Theron is on the verge of signing on for the equivalent role in Universal's "Snow White and the Huntsman."

They make for a good story, and generally who ever gets there second doesn't get there at all.
