Cold Comes The Night
Alice Eve is one of those classically trained British actresses (she went to Westminster and Oxford) who, when she showed up in Hollywood, was quickly (and erroneously) labeled the "next big thing" and forced to perform in a series of middling movies where the biggest demand placed upon her was to look really, really cute. So it's with some relief that she is able to actually, you know, act, in "Cold Comes the Night," a wintery film noir in which Eve plays a put-upon single mother who gets embroiled in a plot to retrieve a bag of money from a crooked cop.

“Cold Comes The Night” is one of those indies you hear about for a long time, but often don’t see right away. It stars Bryan Cranston, Alice Eve and “Prometheus” star Logan Marshall-Green so it’s gotta be good, right? Well, it came out in the U.K. in September and it barely made a peep and now it’s been slotted for a U.S. release date: January 10, 2014 on VOD and theatrically, so…. well, you do the math.

Cold Comes The Night
Alice Eve might have last been seen on the USS Enterprise, unnecessarily stripping down to her underwear, but very soon she'll be fully clothed and totally desperate: in indie thriller "Cold Comes the Night," she plays a single mother who works at a motel (and lives there, it looks like, with her young daughter). When a dead woman leaves behind a suitcase full of cash in one of the motel rooms, she seizes the moment and takes it. Of course, she wasn't counting on Bryan Cranston, with large dark sunglasses and a thick Russian accent, to come looking for the money. Does this sound like a thriller or what?
