While the idea of movies being spun-off and developed into TV shows seems to be a recent and growing trend, Harvey Weinstein had seen this coming years ago. You might not remember, but way back in 2011 it was revealed that he had struck a deal with the new owners of his old studio Miramax, to develop the properties there into sequels and TV shows. That meant titles like “Shakespeare in Love,” “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” “Swingers,” “Clerks,” “Shall We Dance,” “The Amityville Horror” and "Rounders" were all on the table to be played with, so to speak. And hell, just this past spring Robert Rodriguez announced another Miramax title—"From Dusk Til Dawn"—was headed to a TV series. Now another movie from the Miramax catalog is going to the small screen.
