Steve McQueen has quite an abundance of talent at his disposal for "Twelve Years A Slave" but now has more two more additions in TV staple Alfre Woodard and newcomer Lupita Nyong'o. Woodard will play a former slave who has risen through the caste system while Nyong'o plays the object of both affection and cruelty of Master Epps, to be played by Michael Fassbender. The film, of course, stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as Solomon Northup, a free black man who is tricked into slavery and faces a grueling life under several owners. Brad Pitt, Scoot McNairy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Giamatti, Paul Dano, Sarah Paulson, Garrett Dillahunt, Ruth Negga and Adepero Oduye all co-star in the John Ridley co-scripted tale. Most anticipated for 2013? It's up there, no doubt. [THR]

One of the biggest compliments one could give to the Apatow-era of comedy is the development of talent, often very young and unheralded, from all around the world. Take, for instance, the international ensemble for "Bridesmaids" which featured Americans (Melissa McCarthy, Ellie Kemper), Brits (Matt Lucas, Chris O'Dowd) and Australians (Rose Byrne, Rebel Wilson) side-by-side.

Chris O'Dowd is on his way to becoming a very big deal. The Irish comic actor first came to notice, alongside Richard Ayoade, in cult TV show "The IT Crowd," and after early movie appearances in "The Boat That Rocked" and "Gulliver's Travels," has gone from strength to strength; he got to show dramatic range in "The Crimson Petal and White," and after playing the swoonsome cop love interest in "Bridesmaids," has become something of a favorite of the Judd Apatow gang, with roles in "Friends With Kids," "This Is Forty" and "Girls" all coming up.
