Fifty Shades Of Grey
It's like the metaphorical third date today for "Fifty Shades Of Grey" fans. The erotic bestseller is gearing up to hit a multiplex near you, and the first trailer has arrived today to give everyone a peek under the sheets (sorry) at what Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele will be getting up to. And recently, Jamie Dornan shared some his preparation in playing the billionaire who sets his eye on a literature student.

Michael Cera, John C. Reilly, Rick Alverson, Entertainment
Presumably Hollywood's next hot thing, with "Fifty Shades Of Grey" ready to shackle up audiences next year, Dakota Johnson is probably getting more than a few things crossing her desk. And one of them is "Forever, Interrupted." The actress will star in the adaptation of the Taylor Jenkins Reid novel about "a young woman who elopes after a whirlwind romance and then must face the sudden death of her adoring husband. She must come to terms with his loss while forming an unlikely relationship with his mother — who didn't know she existed." No word yet on who will write or direct.

Engineered for maximum velocity, super-torqued hairpin turns and high-octane thrills (obviously), thanks to the likes of the “Fast & Furious,” you should know exactly what to expect from the upcoming junior series, “Need For Speed” aka “Hot Wheels: The Movie.” But if the ‘F&F’ series is often absurdly entertaining with riotous cinematic maximalism in the pole position, “Need For Speed” is comparatively humorless, arguably dumber and doesn’t boast the same visual horsepower.

Need For Speed
We’re still a couple of weeks away from “Need For Speed,” which means we’re not yet past Disney’s marketing blitzkrieg. Clips and featurettes have rained down like so much shrapnel from exploded cars. So here are two more clips featuring leather jackets and expensive vehicles.

Dirty cops, drug dealing biker gangs.... Now this is Shakespeare. Ethan Hawke has reteamed with his "Hamlet" director Michael Almereyda for a contemporary take on "Cymbeline" and they are moving fast. Lensing only went down in August, yet a trailer has emerged online already and it certainly throws any preconceived notions of the Bard out the window.

Fifty Shades Of Grey, First Look
There is probably an easy joke here about how good things come (ha) to those who wait, and it's never good to rush into bed or something, but it looks like Universal and Focus Features have decided to give "Fifty Shades Of Grey" the space it needs to do it right (sorry). So for those of you who were looking to go the sex room of your local multiplex next year, you'll have to hold on just a bit longer (hardy har har).

To an actor, a franchise is an attractive thing: it could mean years (maybe even decades) of solid, dependable work, with each subsequent installment usually incentivized to some degree and with the sense of community and family growing with each outing (many of the "Harry Potter" actors, both young and old, equated the experience to going back to school). In the mad scramble for big studio parts, a franchise is a sturdily proven gig. Which makes actors who pass on potential franchises somewhat baffling (remember when Josh Hartnett was repeatedly courted for Superman?)... Yet pass they do. While Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson ended up scoring the pivotal leads in "Fifty Shades of Grey," a number of Hollywood's elite passed on the project. Franchise schmanchise.

"American Psycho" author and "Canyons" screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis hasn't been coy about his feelings regarding E.L. James' bestselling "Fifty Shades of Grey," mostly in stream-of-conscious Twitter rants where he makes casting suggestions and volunteers himself for the role of the film's screenwriter (a job that already went to "Saving Mr. Banks" writer Kelly Marcel). Following the news of Charlie Hannam and Dakota Johnson in the highly anticipated sequel, Ellis has fired back with details from a conversation he had with James about who should star in the film (oh okay it's everyone's favorite sparkly vampire Robert Pattinson). Also, get a look at Pattinson's gorgeous Dior Homme fragrance commercial, directed by the great Romain Gavras.
