There's one major problem that Jay Roach's political comedy "Dog Fight" faces next year: if the Republican debates have been anything to go by, there's no way that the film, produced by Adam McKay and starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis as a pair of rival South Carolina politicians, can hope to live up to the absurdity and sheer hilarity of the primary season that kicks off in only a few weeks. Even the comic brains behind Ron Burgundy surely couldn't come up with a world in which Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich are genuine front-runners in a presidential race, right?

Take this with a grain of salt (although, it must be said, they were right about John Edwards' love child), but the National Enquirer (via Slashfilm) is reporting that Bill Murray is really done talking about a potential "Ghostbusters 3." How did he get the message across? Well, the tabloid is reporting that Murray sent a shredded copy of the most recent draft of the "Ghostbusters 3" script to original ghostbusters Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis with a note that read, "No one wants to pay money to see fat, old men chasing ghosts!" Who cares if this is a true story or not, it's sort of amazing.

Well, since Bill Murray isn't returning his calls about "Ghostbusters 3," Dan Aykroyd is continuing to go all George Lucas in the second half of his career, and isn't content with shitting on the legacy of one just franchise. Nope, he's gonna now drag "The Blues Brothers" through the mud.

You need to hear that Bill Murray is the hold-out on the long-gestating "Ghostbusters 3" project like you need a hole in the head. While a script was just delivered to the elusive star -- who has no agent or PR person -- the actor has been badmouthing the idea of a third 'Ghostbusters' film for what feels like longer than a year now. He's got his reasons and the biggest question probably is: Why a "Ghostbusters" film now, twenty one years after the fairly mediocre "Ghostbusters II" (which did $126 million less in box-office receipts than the original)?

Judd Apatow-Produced 'House Of Joel' Comedy Project Is Still Very Much Alive, Has A 'Human Giant' Writer OnboardAt the red carpet premiere for "True Grit," we took the opportunity to ask Bill Hader about a certain impending project, a certain big-time sequel that may reunite a certain beloved cast. Less than a month ago, word got out that Sony was eying Hader, Will Forte and Anna Faris as potential proton-pack wielders in "Ghostbusters 3." And then Dan Aykroyd himself confirmed that Hader was one of the "strong possibilities."
