Nicholas Hoult has had a bit of rocky start to 2013. The zombie rom-com "Warm Bodies" was an unexpected hit, and also largely found favor with the critics, while the tentpole "Jack The Giant Slayer" barely debuted at number one and pretty much plummeted from there. Still, Hoult -- who shoots "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" this spring -- is continuing to mix it up with Rupert Wyatt's WWI tale "Birdsong" on his slate, as well as the indie "Young Ones," and now he's coming on board a thriller that already has two strong actresses attached.

She's only sixteen, but the rise of Chloe Moretz has been nothing short of remarkable. It's hard to believe it was only four years ago that she appeared as the kid sister in "(500) Days Of Summer." This year she's got big movies on the way, with the sequel "Kick-Ass 2" (which recently dropped a trailer just focused on her character) and horror remake "Carrie" (new trailer coming this week). And now it looks like she's lining up a drama based on a book by one of the hottest authors of the moment.

Update 02/07: Exclusive Media have confirmed Theron will star in "Dark Places" and co-produce via her Denver And Delilah Productions. No word yet on when production will begin, but "Sarah's Key" helmer Gilles Paquet-Brenner will direct. Original story 02/04: It looks like Gillian Flynn is Hollywood's hot new author. Even though she's only written three novels to date, "Gone Girl" has David Fincher kicking the tires on the director's chair, "Sharp Objects" is brewing over at Blumhouse ("Paranormal Activity," "Insidious") and "Dark Places" has already attracted the attention of Amy Adams. And while the actress has moved on from the developing movie, a no less talented name may be taking her place.

It was seven years ago that Amy Adams broke out in "Junebug" and she hasn't looked back since. Showing that she can move from drama to comedy to romance with ease, the actress has proven to be one of the most talented and versatile of her generation. Need evidence? Watch "The Fighter" and then "The Muppets." Or maybe here three Oscar nominations will be enough to convince you. At any rate, 2012 is shaping up to be banner year for Adams. "On The Road" premieres in Cannes next week, she's been busy lensing "Trouble With The Curve" alongside a guy named Clint Eastwood, later this year she'll be working with Spike Jonze on his untitled romance and then there's a movie called "The Master" you might have heard of opening this fall. And now, she's putting another project on the table.
