While James McTeigue for a moment seemed like the next great blockbuster hopeful following "V For Vendetta," the diminishing returns of "Ninja Assassin" and "The Raven" have found him directing his leanest movie yet. Milla Jovovich, Pierce Brosnan, Emma Thompson and Angela Bassett will star in "Survivor," a thriller that'll shoot in January.

It worked for the Fondas with "On Golden Pond", so why not for the Arquettes with, er, the “psychological thriller” “Glutton”? Variety reports that the awkward youngest sibling David is intent on getting the band back together, as a case of mutually-beneficial Hollywood nepotism wins the day again. Casting his older sister Patricia in his second full-length feature as director, not only gives her flagging/non-existent movie career a leg-up, it’s also balances the karma after David’s stint directing three episodes of her lamentably dull TV show “Medium” which somehow managed to stay on the air for seven whole years before being cancelled last December.

New decade, new rules, huh? Not exactly. Pop quiz: what would a "Scream" movie be without its movie in-jokes, exactly? Hmm, perhaps an original film? A Canadian trailer for the Weinstein Company's desperate franchise cash-in has arrived and get it while it's hot because the studio keeps taking down various trailers on YouTube only for them to spring up again five minutes later. They should probably realize the wildfire has spread and it's best to just release an official version already.
