Twin Peaks
When word emerged earlier this month that David Lynch was shooting a new promo for a forthcoming "Twin Peaks" box set, it seemed everyone had an opinion on how true those reports were. The show's co-creator Mark Frost called it "another strange baseless rumor," while Ray Wise (aka Leland Palmer) told Fangoria that there was indeed more coming from the cult show. “Yeah, we [shot the promo for the Blu-ray] two days ago,” he told the horror magazine. “It’s been done. I don’t know if I was supposed to leak that to anybody, but yeah, we did it and I’m not at liberty to say what was done. I can say that it’s going to be a big surprise.” Well, it's certainly a surprise no more.

Eraserhead

Well, it turns out that if you're David Lynch, there's quite a lot to say. So, how about a whole hour and a half of discussion of the film, in the shaped of the Lynch-directed 2001 documentary “Eraserhead Stories”?

Twin Peaks
While those rumors a year ago of a possible third season of David Lynch's cult classic TV series "Twin Peaks" were debunked as quickly as they came forward, it appears that the director/creator isn't done with Laura Palmer just yet. It looks like we'll all have a reason return to Twin Peaks soon.

On The Air David Lynch
"The year is 1957. A new program entitled 'The Lester Guy Show' is debuting on the Zoblotnick Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC). Most of the cast is nuts, the crew is incompetent and everything that could go wrong always does. Of course, this makes the show a hit." So goes the logline to David Lynch's short-lived ABC sitcom "On The Air" and if you need a reminder of what the filmmaker did with his opportunity to be zapped into the homes of mainstream America, here you go.

While David Lynch is always working on something, these days it doesn't seem to be film. Instead he's making coffee, music or painting and next year, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts will have a retrospective of that work. But for those of you waiting patiently for a new Lynch film, hopefully this will help pass the time.

While David Lynch's "Twin Peaks" will always stand proudly as the moment the distinct filmmaker freaked out America on national network TV, once the show was done, he was finished working on the small screen format. Less known among his filmography is a detour to HBO in 1993 for the three part miniseries "Hotel Room." Well, thanks to the glory of the interwebs, you can now spent the rest of the day hiding out from your boss and watching it in full.

Lovers On The Run feature
“We can make it. We can make it if we run,” whispers Ruth (Rooney Mara) in David Lowery’s “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints,” which, after a limited release on Friday, begins its expansion this week. It’s a film we loved at Sundance, and one that in its gentle subversion of the “Lovers on the Run” subgenre—as the prequel comic makes clear, the events of ‘Saints’ mostly take place after the bank robbin’, outlawin’ part of the story is done—reminded us of all the other great (and not so great) films that have pitted a pair of lovers against the law.

David Lynch
This is a real find: David Lynch waxing lyrical in a 1987 BBC Arena documentary about surrealist cinema. In a triumph of simplicity over budget, this is less a documentary in the traditional sense and more a clip show—but when it's David Lynch introducing the clips, and when they're clips from surrealist films and thus don't suffer much from being shown without the context of the wider film, you have a recipe for a fascinating hour (nor thankfully do they suffer overmuch from being viewed on somewhat degraded '90s videotape).
