Looks like Warner Bros. is pulling an "Akira," "Paradise Lost" and "Arthur & Lancelot" on "Tarzan." The studio, which famously shut down all of those aforementioned films while they were in pre-production, is doing the same thing with "Tarzan" for pretty much same reason: money, money, money.

Though recently pushed back from a spring to summer start, allowing Emma Watson the chance to flex some comedic muscle in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's directorial debut "The End Of The World," it looks like "Your Voice In My Head" is going to need a new director.

If your part calls for an actor in their 40s or 50s, and you're part of a big studio movie, the reality is that the same handful of names are always going to be at the top of your casting wishlist -- the Cruises, the Clooneys, the Pitts, the Hankses, the Depps. These are the guys who get every offer in town, and as such, those actors get to pick and choose from the cream of the crop.

Well, Warner Bros seems eager to get this movie made. Initially Greg Berlanti was tapped to helm the pic before "This Is Where I Leave You" was offered up to David Yates last summer, as part of a handful of projects the studio was discussing with the director. But he's directing "Your Voice In My Head" next, with a potential gangster trilogy with Tom Hardy waiting in the wings. So, WB has moved on, and are eyeing a vastly different helmer for the gig.

Very occasionally, the trades do something known in the journalism trade as "burying the lede" -- dropping a hint of a separate story in a piece about something else entirely, which can often be passed over at first glance. As it turns out, there's been a couple of examples of this in the last few days: potential projects hinted at by some names who've been in the news a lot of late.

Everyone is banking on Tom Hardy becoming a big, big star. Harvey Weinstein has already moved "The Wettest County" to the end of the summer, hoping to ride the wave of the actor's post-"The Dark Knight Rises" fame and Warner Bros. is anxious to keep the actor in house. He's already set to spend the a good chunk of 2012 filming George Miller's long awaited "Fury Road" for the studio, and they are already getting the actor started on another role, one that he won't tackle until next year.

So what does director David Yates do after helming four movies in the mega 'Harry Potter' franchise? Well despite having a plethora of potential big movies to choose from ("The Stand," the gangster epic "Cicero," the fairy tale flick "Fables") he's made a pretty interesting shift in direction, choosing something a bit more intimate in scope.
