She's already becoming an increasingly familiar face, but the next twelve months or so should see Juno Temple become pretty much inescapable. She's got roles from indies "Small Apartments" and "The Brass Teapot" to blockbusters "The Three Musketeers" and, of course, "The Dark Knight Rises." But first up for the 22-year-old British-born actress is "Dirty Girl," which opened on Friday, and stars the actress, along with Milla Jovovich, William H. Macy and Dwight Yoakam, in a 80s-set comedy about a promiscuous teen who runs away with her gay classmate to find her birth father.

If there's one thing "Dirty Girl" has going for it -- and it's made abundantly clear even before the glittery title card, spelled out in swoopy, neon-lit letters like the name of a roller disco -- it's that it has attitude. The titular dirty girl is an Oklahoma teen named Danielle (Juno Temple) who acts out in class and sleeps around. She has an infectiously "fuck you" approach to just about everything, from her classmates, agog at her sexual promiscuity, to her soon-to-be stepdad (William H. Macy), to her teachers, who bump her down to a remedial class where the most pressing assignment is taking care of a bag of flour like it's an actual human baby.

While we're curious to see how the Harvey Weinstein edit of "Dirty Girl" plays -- the movie was chopped down from 109 minutes to 90 minutes in order to "broaden its appeal" -- we will say this: anyone needing a good '80s fix will be well served by the soundtrack.

British actress Juno Temple (daughter of documentarian Julien) started out with memorable roles in “Atonement” and “Notes on a Scandal,” and she’s quickly made a name for herself on this side of the Atlantic too. She may have starred in Harold Raimis’ toxic “Year One,” but managed to nimbly sidestep the fallout from that project, in large part by nixing any expectations she might flower into an English Rose in the Keira Knightely stable, and getting her kit off in Gregg Araki’s spectacularly nuts “Kaboom” earlier in the year and landing a role in the upcoming “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Shocker: Bruce Willis/50 Cent Movie 'Set Up' Going Straight-To-DVDIt's no secret that Harvey Weinstein aka Harvey Scissorhands likes to maximize the movies under his roof to make sure they make the most bang for their buck. There is already the case of Tom Hooper's "The King' Speech" which was edited without his consent down to a PG-13 rating for a post-Oscar re-release. And Harvey admitted he was thinking about tinkering with Richard Ayoade's "Submarine" before it his theaters earlier this year (though wisely, he ultimately kept his hands off). But one recent acquisition has undergone a major overhaul on its way to theaters this fall.
