In this day and age, when leaks from big-budget movies are par for the course, it's pretty amazing that, so far, Neill Blomkamp has managed to keep a tight lid on his top secret "Elysium." All that's really known is that it's set in the future, stars Matt Damon, Sharlto Copley, William Fichtner, Jodie Foster, Alice Braga, Diego Luna and Wagner Moura, and it features the work of "Blade Runner" designer Syd Mead. But late last summer, word surfaced that the film was going to have a political angle to it—much in the way "District 9" bore more than few references to apartheid—and was "set in a near future fraught with Anglo-Hispanic racial tensions." And it seems that's the case as tensions between two classes—though not necessary anglo-hispanic—will be key.

Even though Neill Blomkamp is filming his highly anticipated follow up to "District 9" in Vancouver as we speak, details on the project remain tightly wrapped with pretty much the only thing known about the story is the fact it'll revolve around “aliens and humans doing battle on Earth" and will be set 100 years in the future.

Viral campaigns are a tricky business. They can either be a well-executed and enjoyable way to tease information and set up the world of a forthcoming film that catches on in a big way as the carefully planned campaign for Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" displayed. Or, they can be so obtuse and uninteresting that only the most devoted the core fanbase wind up playing along, which is pretty much what happened to the "Super 8" online presence, or it's simply not developed enough to make a real impact like those fake drug ads for "Limitless." That's not to mention that there is also a very real danger of starting things way too early, but for Sony who is behind Neill Blomkamp's ambitious, R-rated and mysterious "Elysium" they will need all the help to get the word out early and they are not wasting a moment as with nearly two years to go until it hits theaters, they've already kicked off the campaign.

Actor Also In Talks For 'Wrong,' Quentin Dupieux's Follow-Up To 'Rubber'Is there anything William Fichtner can't do? The longtime character actor basically spruces up whatever project he winds up participating in, even if it's playing something as ludicrous as the devil's right hand man in "Drive Angry 3D." Christopher Nolan realized that man brings gravity to any scene he's in, which is why he used him for the few minutes of screen time he had in the opening heist sequence of "The Dark Knight"; he needed someone who could believably stand up to the Joker, if only for a few moments.

Jodie Foster recently headed to Austin with her buzzed about "The Beaver" under her arm and the reviews were mixed. While some were taken with Mel Gibson's comeback performance, we found the film to be tonally inconsistent and a bit of a disappointment, particularly as the script placed on the Black List. But with the film set to hit theaters soon, Foster is ready to put the 'Beaver' behind her and move forward and it looks as if she's planning a bit of a change in direction.
