So, the accepted wisdom is that street artist Banksy delivered a fantastic documentary last year entitled "Exit Through the Gift Shop," that had everybody talking about it as soon as it first debuted at Sundance. But the story didn't end there: even after garnering an Academy Award nomination and heaps of critical praise, a debate raged on for months as to whether the film was "real" or a hoax, partly because the story was too good to be true and partly because many assume anything that the prankster-ish Bansky does is disingenuous.

'Black Swan' Takes Best Feature, Actress, Director & Cinematographer At Indie Spirit Awards

The second-to-last hurrah of the movie season took place this afternoon, with the Independent Spirit Awards, the looser neighbor to the big Oscar show tomorrow night. And while it's unlikely "Black Swan" will repeat the feat on Sunday, Fox Searchlight must be very pleased to close off their year in such a winning a fashion.

Academy Members Are No Fun, Refuse To Let Banksy Show Up At Oscars In Disguise

One of the long-running concerns/complaints about the Oscar awards is that no one under the age of 30 cares about them. Recent moves to expand the Best Picture category to ten nominees, in a bid to let in more popular, mainstream options have been an attempt to lure a younger demographic, however, it appears that any attempts at being fun are strongly discouraged.
