Poor Josh Trank has had to answer a sea of rumors in putting together his vision for "The Fantastic Four." The scrutiny is understandable: this is a property that has been adapted into film twice already (three times if you count a basically-unreleased early '90s incarnation), each time failing to impress the hardcore fans. And Fox, eager to kick-start the series to keep it from reverting back to Marvel, have been keeping things close to the vest, refusing to disclose any story details for a film that’s a little over a year away, and about to begin production. But if this latest casting notice is anything to go by, Fox is playing fast and loose with the series. And why not?

Although the trades are being cautious and using phrases like "seems that way" while underscoring some deals aren't in place, Josh Trank hasn't hit Twitter yet to debunk this latest news, and most places seem pretty confident that casting on "Fantastic Four" has finally been locked down. And it looks like the reboot of the superhero quartet are bringing some rising young faces to the roles.

Guardians Of The Galaxy
It was sort of a dick move when Warner Bros. moved "Batman Vs. Superman" out of 2015 and right onto a 2016 date already called by Marvel for a currently untitled movie. And while nothing is official as to what they'll place against the DC Comics powerhouse, a rumor is suggesting they're gonna bank on their new batch of superheroes.

Fantastic Four Emmy Rossum
There has been a lot of chatter around Fox's reboot of "Fantastic Four" but little in the way of actual concrete information, but that hasn't stopped things from getting ridiculous. We're now at a moment when certain websites reach out to director Josh Trank to essentially confirm his denials about supposedly leaked plot points. It would seem that a certain core audience totally doesn't want spoilers but kind of wants them too. Anyway, we digress... The point is that testing is underway for the movie that is due in theaters next year, with another name surfacing and yet another rumor about what changes may happen to the canon.

Thor: The Dark World
While Marvel is starting to branch out their cinematic universe with "Guardians Of The Galaxy" this summer, and "Ant-Man" in 2015, that doesn't mean they're abandoning the staples. Earlier this week, the ball got rolling on "Captain America 3" with directors Anthony and Joe Russo tapped to return, and that's not all the news Marvel had.

A few bits and pieces of news are lying about from the tentpole/genre world this evening, so let’s get to them. The first is some potential trouble with the upcoming “Terminator: Genesis” film, a reboot of the “Terminator” franchise set to star Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor and potentially Jai Courtney among other candidates for the role of Kyle Reese. One of the major financiers on the project was Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures, but Ellison’s company has dropped out as producer leaving her brother David's Skydance shingle and Paramount to foot the bill.

How The 'Avengers'-Izing Of Blockbusters Is Killing Movies
Is it enough to just make one movie anymore? In the wake of Marvel’s audacious world-building in an assembly line of completely indistinguishable adventure movies, the studios would answer no. What used to be one series of movies has become a web, one that involves various other series’ and offshoots of one particular brand.

How I Live Now, Saoirse Ronan,
We recently got to chat with the lovely and talented Saoirse Ronan about her upcoming young adult adaptation "How I Live Now" (review here), which is kind of like what would have happened if Terrence Malick had directed "Red Dawn" (more from that interview soon). And while we had the young actress on the line, we had to quiz her about a myriad of upcoming projects she has in the works, everything from the upcoming Wes Anderson joint "The Grand Budapest Hotel," to Ryan Gosling's directorial debut "How to Catch A Monster," to things that are in a more nebulous state of flux, like Joe Wright's "Little Mermaid" and the hotly rumored "Fantastic Four" and "Star Wars: Episode VII."

Miles Teller
While attending the Savannah Film Festival, Fandango talked to Miles Teller, star of this year's wonderful teen romance "The Spectacular Now" (and also the odious college comedy "21 and Over"), about what he's got coming up next. Teller also stars in next year's high profile YA adaptation "Divergent," whose sequel is set to begin shooting imminently. But what about that other hot property Teller has been attached to? You know, the one with the Invisible Woman and The Thing…
