Wolverine
Of the three big superhero movies this year, "The Wolverine" might well be the least anticipated at this point. "Iron Man 3" had the heat off "The Avengers," and has already made a billion dollars, while "Man Of Steel" has a reboot, the Christopher Nolan factor and some pretty amazing trailers. Whereas while James Mangold's film is from the longest-running superhero franchise currently going (it's thirteen years since Hugh Jackman first donned the claws), it's coming off two sub-standard films in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and "X-Men: First Class," and it's reflected in the relative lack of buzz for the film.

Many, including ourselves, tipped the latest film from Ben Wheatley, "A Field In England," to pop up somewhere in the Cannes line-up. After all, his reputation's been growing since his first two pictures "Down Terrace" and "Kill List," and "Sightseers" was on the Croisette last year. The film didn't appear in the line-up, but in a way, it didn't need to, because it already has its own plans; rolling out back in the UK in an unprecedented multi-format release that will see it hit cinemas on the same day that it's released on DVD & Blu-Ray, airs on VOD, and even screens on the free Film4 channel.

Kings of Summer
It's not yet one for the ages, but 2013 has had a fairly decent start to the year, cinematically speaking; there's been a lot of crap, but also a lot to recommend, in the shape of films like "Side Effects," "No," "Beyond The Hills," "Ginger & Rosa," "Spring Breakers," "The Place Beyond The Pines," "Upstream Color," "To The Wonder," "Sightseers," "In The House," "Mud," "What Richard Did" and "Frances Ha," among others. And next week, one of our very favorite films of the early part of 2013 arrives in theaters, in the shape of "The Kings Of Summer."

Watch: Trailer & Poster For Gritty '70s Crime Epic 'Blood Ties' With Clive Owen, Mila Kunis & Marion Cotillard

We'd been a little worried that something was up with "Blood Ties." The promise of a team-up of Guillaume Canet and James Gray was terrific, especially on an epic crime 70s-set crime saga, and Canet had assembled a hugely impressive cast for his English-language debut, including Clive Owen, Marion Cotillard, Billy Crudup, Zoe Saldana, Matthias Schoenaerts, Mila Kunis, James Caan and Noah Emmerich. But despite Gray's status as a Cannes favorite, the film was being shown out of competition at the festival, and disappointingly, it seems that there was a reason for that; reaction to the film, including our own review, have been rather lukewarm.

If you went to see "Star Trek Into Darkness" this weekend, you may have glimpsed a nice little surprise; a new teaser trailer for arguably our single most anticipated motion picture of the year. Not "The Wolf Of Wall Street" or "Twelve Years A Slave," or "The Counselor" or even "Inside Llewyn Davis" (which our crack Cannes contingent are lining up for as we speak), but a little film called "Anchorman: The Legend Continues."

The Hangover Part III
The law of comedy movie marketing dictates that, about a week to ten days before your R-rated movie is released, you put out a red-band trailer. It's a good chance to get some of your best gags, or at least some of your sweariest and/or boobiest moments out before a crowd.

Given that his sole film in the English-language to date was "Alien: Resurrection," it's not surprising that French filmmaker Jean-Pierre Jeunet has preferred to stick to homegrown fare in the fifteen years since (bar a brief flirtation with making "Life of Pi," eventually filmed to great success by Ang Lee). But the director's back Stateside at last, with "The Young And Prodigious Spivet," and a trailer's just arrived, courtesy of The Film Stage.

Trailer placement is a very important thing. You get your promo in front of a film that has the same target audience, and turns out to be a big hit, and you're potentially laughing all the way to the bank. And that's why we've just seen a trailer for "Last Vegas" over at Yahoo -- "The Hangover Part III" is only a week away, and it's the perfect film to help sell CBS Films' aged bachelor party movie to a giant crowd.

Watch: Splattery Red-Band Trailer For Horror Anthology Sequel 'V/H/S 2'

When “V/H/S” came out last year, reaction was… mixed, to put it lightly. Like most anthology films, it was wildly uneven. But it seems the concept is just too irresistible for other filmmakers to resist and thus, we have “V/H/S 2.” Originally titled “S-V/H/S”, the sequel premiered at Sundance this past January to a much more positive reception than the first (read our review). Now a red band trailer has just been posted online over at Yahoo and there’s only one way to describe it: utter mayhem.
