If the performance this summer of "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" was anything to go by, the future of the "[Insert Name Of Historical Or Literary Figure]: [Insert Name Of Supernatural Creature] Hunter" sub-genre isn't looking too great; even on a relatively modest budget, Timur Bekmambetov's horror-actioner failed to make much of a box office impact, only just scraping its way to $100 million worldwide. But if Paramount had any second thoughts about their own "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters," it was too late; the film had long since wrapped (indeed, it was set to come out first, until it was delayed nearly a full year by the studio), and was already on the release schedule.

Just as worried filmgoers hesitantly stepped into “The Grey” this past January with fears of “Taken” with wolves, only then for the film to exceed all expectations as one of the most pleasant surprises of the year, we can only hope something similar will befall Sylvester Stallone’s latest actioner “Bullet to the Head.” With each look at the Walter Hill-directed film thus far wafting a perfectly generic tone of DTV fare, the prospect seems unlikely, but now a third trailer has been released to try and endear audiences to the newest from the "48 Hrs" helmer.

Making its way through a variety of festivals including Cannes, Toronto, London and Stockholm next month, the buzz around the Ken Burns, David McMahon and Sarah Burns documentary "The Central Park Five" has been building, and generating a lot of discussion. Tackling one of the most publicized crimes of the '80s in New York City, an incident which also caught the nation's attention, this new film reveals a haunting truth about a quest for justice gone very wrong.

It's almost that time again.... Arriving like clockwork, it seems every year or so we get another Nicholas Sparks movie adaptation (in 2010 we were lucky enough to get two movies based on his books!). And for his fanbase that likes to hear a variation on the same mediocre, manipulative story over and and over and over and over again, "Safe Haven" will be a warm, vanilla pillow of familiarity and fake emotion.

In case the "Iron Man 3" duo of the teaser-trailers-for-the-trailer, that itself finally dropped this morning wasn't enough, now the folks over at TriStar are doing the same (though thankfully, with just the one) for their upcoming "The Evil Dead" remake -- despite the fact the New York Comic Con footage (which we're guessing will be what we see tomorrow) widely leaked last week.

We prophesized this film might be the most unintentionally hilarious 3D movie ever made, and it seems that prediction is coming true. Announced with great fanfare more than two years ago as a $100 million (though it's apparently much more than that) Chinese 3D movie production with the "Avatar" 3D camera operator Anthony Arendt lending his talents to the production, with Michael French and Jonathan Lawrence co-directing, word on the movie has been pretty much zilch since. However, it should be noted that Pitof (of the notorious "Catwoman" fame) was originally attached with Monica Bellucci in the lead, and we can't imagine he could have done much worse.

This writer is probably one of the few who didn't care for the latest domestic trailer for "Django Unchained" when it landed a week or so ago, but after watching this brand new international trailer, that opinion could very much be turning around.

Every year, many films hit Sundance packed with stars, and featuring a solid name behind the camera, but not all of them live up to expecatation. And by most accounts, "Lay The Favorite" is one of those movies. Boasting a cast that includes Rebecca Hall, Bruce Willis, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Vince Vaughn, Laura Prepon, Joshua Jackson and more, with Stephen Frears at the helm, the potential was there for a better-than-average comedy, but judging from the notices out of Park City, the result was less than that.
