We prophesized this film might be the most unintentionally hilarious 3D movie ever made, and it seems that prediction is coming true. Announced with great fanfare more than two years ago as a $100 million (though it's apparently much more than that) Chinese 3D movie production with the "Avatar" 3D camera operator Anthony Arendt lending his talents to the production, with Michael French and Jonathan Lawrence co-directing, word on the movie has been pretty much zilch since. However, it should be noted that Pitof (of the notorious "Catwoman" fame) was originally attached with Monica Bellucci in the lead, and we can't imagine he could have done much worse.

This writer is probably one of the few who didn't care for the latest domestic trailer for "Django Unchained" when it landed a week or so ago, but after watching this brand new international trailer, that opinion could very much be turning around.

Every year, many films hit Sundance packed with stars, and featuring a solid name behind the camera, but not all of them live up to expecatation. And by most accounts, "Lay The Favorite" is one of those movies. Boasting a cast that includes Rebecca Hall, Bruce Willis, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Vince Vaughn, Laura Prepon, Joshua Jackson and more, with Stephen Frears at the helm, the potential was there for a better-than-average comedy, but judging from the notices out of Park City, the result was less than that.

Following a series of strong festival showings this past summer and fall, ABC has started to spread word about his Jackson doc, “Bad 25,” slating a TV airing this holiday season.

A comedy centered on two very different sisters, featuring a solid cast including Lizzy Caplan, Alison Brie, Martin Starr, Mark Webber, Melonie Diaz, Geoffrey Arend and Timothy Busfield, the Sundance rom-com "Save the Date" has been rather quiet since it premiered in Utah earlier this year. But IFC Films, releasing the picture later this fall, is finally bringing their campaign to life. Directed by Michael Mohan ("One Too Many Mornings") the first trailer for the film has arrived and it quotes our review from Sundance where we described it as an "endearing" picture that "other rom-coms should aspire to be." And indeed, it does look charming while still containing some emotional depth and smarts.

When the squeeze is on, everyone suffers. That is just one of the overarching themes of Andrew Dominik's "Killing Them Softly," a hard-boiled crime tale that has bigger thematic ambitions. Brad Pitt stars as Jackie Cogan, a hitman and enforcer who subcontracts out a kill and watches as the events around the heist of a high stakes card game has repercussions both up and down the criminal chain of command. As we noted at Cannes, it's a brilliant movie, and Pitt recently discussed how Dominik chose to approach the film.
