We already know we can expect to see Roman Coppola’s “A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III,” the Walter Hill-directed comeback vehicle with Sylvester Stallone's “Bullet to the Head,” and maybe even a surprise bit of Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” may be in order. Still, there’s a quieter side to the festival that isn’t all debuts of big Hollywood films, and that’s where Marjane Satrapi’s “Gang of the Jotas” fits in.

For weeks, FX has been hinting at the second season of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck's insanely popular (and just plain insane) "American Horror Story" with a series of bizarre and elliptical teasers. Well, the series returns next week (!) and they have finally started releasing teasers that actually give us a taste of what this new season, subtitled "Asylum" and set largely in a mental institution in the early sixties, is all about. Anyone worried that the series ran out of outrageousness in season one will be soothed by the amount of crazy in this teaser.

It's been hard to know what to expect from Paul Schrader's "The Canyons," a collaboration with writer Bret Easton Ellis that features the unlikely leads Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen. And certainly, this first teaser trailer (well, the first one to feature actual footage) certainly isn't what we would have predicted from the movie.

Representing a labyrinthine nightmare both in terms of subject matter and also fair rights usage, Rodney Ascher's documentary “Room 237” delves into “The Shining” and Stanley Kubrick's themes and meanings like never before. Using source material from Mario Bava films to Disney cartoons, everything from set dressing to shot angles in Kubrick's horror classic is analyzed to nail down some sort of truth, and the film's just-released trailer certainly hints at that mystery.

If you thought Bond Day was over or that the team behind "Skyfall" were done making you listen to Adele's theme song, guess again. With the official tune dropping yesterday and being very well received (it's certainly the best theme in recent memory), the marketing machine continues today.
