While her pal Nicole Kidman is out of the way as potential competition during this awards season, it's still far from a slam dunk for Naomi Watts to be in the mix of contenders. Early word on the forthcoming "Diana" has not been good, being described as "car crash cinema," "terrible and tacky" and "a right royal mess" in early reviews, but the picture will soldier on, hoping that once it goes a bit wider, there will be some champions for the film.

The quirk alert for "A Case Of You" goes off pretty early once you realize the love interest in the film is named Birdie Hazel, while Peter Dinklage plays a flamboyant barista with an unpronounceable name that rhymes with Gerard. Laughing yet? Then this rom-com might be for you.

Venus In Furs
While it might seem every major festival film from the year thus far has been accounted for, we nearly forgot about Roman Polanski's "Venus In Fur." Premiering at Cannes this past spring, it has since kept a low profile, skipping Telluride, Toronto and New York altogether. But with a release in France around the corner, some more attention is now focused back on the film.

Carrie
While Stephen King has made his feelings about Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining" quite clear, he's yet to weigh in on a second version of "Carrie." He apparently is fine with Brain De Palma version, but is Kimberly Peirce simply treading over familiar ground or putting her stamp on it?

Kevin Hart is on the precipice of stardom if he isn't already there. The comic actor has been paying his dues ever since his memorable appearance in "The Forty Year-Old Virgin" and this summer scored a surprise box office hit with his standup special "Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain." And with big roles coming in "Grudge Match," "Think Like A Man Too" and "Ride Along" coming up we're going to be seen a lot more of him, including in the upcoming remake of the '80s nugget "About Last Night."

So this is happening, and I guess you better just just deal with it. The story of "Bonnie & Clyde," immortalized in Arthur Penn's iconic 1967 film, is now being told again by Bruce Beresford ("Peace, Love & Misunderstanding," "Mao's Last Dancer" and "The Contract") with Emile Hirsch and Holliday Grainger as the outlaws. The results?

There were few films at TIFF this year as brazenly filthy and outrageous as "Dom Hemingway," and certainly fewer as enjoyable. And while release date schedules dictate that the movie still won't arrive stateside until next year, overseas, audiences will be the first to dive into the fun, and a new trailer is here to highlight what's in store. But don't make any quick judgments on the movie based on this trailer which doesn't really do the tone of "Dom Hemingway" justice.

Under The Skin
It may have taken nine years for Jonathan Glazer to deliver his third feature-length film, but the wait for "Under The Skin" has been more than worth it. Knocking out Playlist writers who saw the movie in Venice, Telluride and Toronto (see our review and 5 Reasons Why Jonathan Glazer's 'Under The Skin' Is One Of The Best Films Of The Year), the film is a visually dazzling piece of work, packed with enough ideas that you'll need a couple of viewings to dig beneath its many layers. The first teaser dropped a few weeks back, but now a longer version—almost twice the length—is here and it's another great peek at the movie.

While Vince Vaughn is best known for his motormouth in a wide array of comedies, he's been desperate to do something a bit more gritty. Over the past while, he's been lining up no shortage of more serious-minded fare like the the thriller "The Risk Agent," the Randall Wallace-penned "Gunslingers" and road adventure "Triple Time." But it looks like another project has the momentum to cast the actor in a whole new light.

Enemy, Jake Gyllenhaal
If there is any bromantic duo we want to see keep working together, it's Jake Gyllenhaal and director Denis Villeneuve. This weekend, their searing and terrific "Prisoners" opens wide. But before they made that film, they first paired up on "Enemy," an ambitious mind-bender featuring Gyllenhaal in the two lead roles.
