Girl Most Likely, Kristen Wiig, Annette Bening
Kristen Wiig exploded after the massive success of "Bridesmaids," but unlike Melissa McCarthy, we have yet to see the cinematic rewards be reaped. Her only notable post-'Bridesmaids' turns were a small part in "Friends With Kids" and another little bit in "Friends With Jolly!," but by the end of year, she'll be back on radars thanks to "Anchorman: The Legend Continues" and "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty" alone. But before both of those, another one of her indie films will be hitting the big screen.

To anticipate a film nowadays is to wonder what its tipping point into overexposure will be. “Iron Man 3” is set to open tomorrow -- have you stayed away from trailers completely, or have you paid attention to every casting announcement and TV spot, hoping they won't reveal one set-piece too many? It's that question of enjoyment linked to movie marketing that a new study hoped to investigate, and the results are both predictable and surprising in equal measure.

The Long Ranger
As overstuffed as the last two Gore Verbinski-helmed “Pirates of the Caribbean” films were, there’s no denying the fact that the man knows how to stage a set piece. Add this to the fact that “The Lone Ranger” looks to be a fun -- and extremely high-budgeted -- western with no unnecessary 3D post-conversion, and you can count us in. If you still need convincing, the Russian-dubbed international trailer has surfaced online with new footage and, more importantly, more trains.

Man Of Steel, Henry Cavill
TV spots, for the most part, are pretty dull affairs, hyper-edited, condensed versions of longer trailers that are meant to grab your attention between snack refills and remind you when the movie is coming out. And then there is "Man Of Steel." The marketing team has been pushing "epic" over "CRASH BOOM RELEASE DATE," and if you need any further evidence, just watch the latest trailer, which was so good that we just had to break it down. And now a TV spot continues that trend, not only giving us a thirty second preview, but also maintaining that same tone.

Casting Eli Roth as a horny dweeb in South America is either genius or completely misguided, but either way, it's a bit of a switchup to see him as the victim of horrific carnage, rather than the one dispensing it. And this new red band trailer for "Aftershock" doesn't hold back on the babes or bloodsheed.

The Wolverine Logan Viper
CinemaCon is the annual event where theater owners and studio types come together to massage each other, tell each other it's going to be okay, and then confer about how many bajillion dollars movies will make this year. Part of that process is showing off footage to get theater owners all hot and buttery and while in years past this kind of stuff has tended to say under the radar (for example, Oscar talk for "Life Of Pi" began at CinemaCon last year after some early material was screened, well before the public saw any trailers), things are changing. The monstrous CinemaCon trailer for Guillermo Del Toro's "Pacific Rim" dropped a couple of days ago, now Fox is following suit with their "The Wolverine" spot.

Violet and daisy
Premiering at TIFF way back in 2011 and arriving in theaters nearly two years later, it isn't exactly the best indication that "Violet & Daisy" is a winner. But with Saoirse Ronan and Alexis Bledel playing teen killers, and with James Gandolfini popping in for some support, perhaps this will at least be a curiosity worth tracking down.

The Cannes Film Festival is only two weeks away, and with the sheer amount of films coming to the south of France growing larger by the day, the trailers advertising them have ramped into high gear. Earlier in the month a teaser trailer was released for director Paolo Sorrentino's "La Grande Bellezza," and now the official trailer has just gone live, and while it’s in Italian, it definitely shows Sorrentino returning to the roots he laid down with his earlier film, "Il Divo."

Landing on our list of The Most Anticipated Blockbusters Of The 2013 Summer Season, "Pacific Rim" had been playing a bit cagey until this point, keeping the monsters mostly teased instead of shown, but today Warner Bros. has unleashed a helluva trailer which promises the monster vs. robot mayhem most have been hoping Guillermo Del Toro would be delivering.
