It’s been seven years since Jonathan Levine’s directorial debut “All The Boys Love Mandy Lane” premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. In that time, Levine delivered three more directorial outings—“The Wackness,” “50/50” and “Warm Bodies”—while his first film sat gathering dust on the proverbial shelf. This year The Weinstein Company’s genre shingle Radius landed the rights—nearly a decade since its parent company first bought the film—and it will now finally see a release this fall. A proper release begets a proper advertising campaign, so the studio has released a brand new trailer through CraveOnline.

There are lots of movies coming this fall, dripping with heavy drama and intense themes, but sometimes you just need to escape. And from the first glances at "Notting Hill" and "Venus" director Roger Michell's "Le Week-End," this could be exactly the kind of feel-good medicine audiences will go for. A romance with a couple of older charmers set in Paris? It almost sounds a bit too on the nose, and certainly the first trailer and clip aren't subtle, but if brewed right it could be a worthwhile concoction.

When are North American audiences going to have a chance to get dirty with "Filth"? While the adaptation of Irvine Welsh's novel is gearing up for release overseas, there's no hint of it on the fall festival slate stateside, or even the whisper of a distributor. So we'll just have to keep looking at it from afar, and waiting to find out when we'll get our shot.

Inside Llewyn Davis

That being said, if you just can't resist, the movie certainly won't be ruined for you, and this latest spot does a solid job at capturing the irresistible blend of drama and morose humour the sibling directors have perfected over their career.

While "Monsters" helmer Gareth Edwards has taken a huge leap from his tiny breakout film, directing next year's massive "Godzilla," the success of his eerie creature feature is something producers have been unable to leave behind. And so of course, no time has been wasted in mounting a sequel to "Monsters"—bearing the foreboding title "Monsters: The Dark Continent"—and though filming only got underway this past spring, we already have a teaser trailer to hint at what's in store.

While many folks are furiously updating and upgrading their Oscar predictions as festival season gets underway, the thing is we're barely into the swing of the awards season, and more crucially, most of the films have yet to be seen. Some are going to flop, others are going to be expectedly great while a small handful more will truly surprise. Is "The Book Thief" from "Downton Abbey" director Brian Percival, going to be one of those that sneaks into contention?
