What up Gamers! Things are finally starting to get funny/sexy/crazy on ye olde "Games of Thrones." Blood 'n boobs, that's why we're here, that's what we were promised, and that's what we're going to get. This episode finally hits the gas on this season, and off we go. Thankfully, we get a bit of humor and levity to offset the gore and blood, which always helps.

Joe Dempsie, Ben Hawkey and Maisie Williams in Game of Thrones
After episode one, "Valar Dohaeris," reminded us of what half of our Seven Kingdoms are up to in “Game Of Thrones,” episode two, “Dark Wings, Dark Words,” catches us up with the remaining characters not featured in the inaugural episode and moves the story forward in a more decided fashion, introducing new, significant characters and teaching us a bit more about some of the more mysterious aspects of story.

Well, geez that didn't take long. It's already safe to say that HBO's "Game Of Thrones" is already one of the crown jewels of their slate, and with viewers turning on the TV Sunday night in droves, it's not a shock that they are eager to keep a flag planted in Westeros.

Sometimes you have to be a little nerdy to fully understand HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” Or at least understand it more deeply than the average viewer. If Season 2 ended with the well-titled episode “Valar Morghulis" meaning, “all men must die,” in Season 3 we begin with the less ominous and more appropriate "Valar Dohaeris" -- “all men must serve.” As fans of Westeros should know, Season 3 falls roughly within the first half of “A Storm of Swords,” the third of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels by George R. R. Martin.

Waiting for “Mad Men” to return is probably about as tedious and dispiriting as being married to Pete Campbell. After a juggernaut fifth season that pretty much benched the rest of non-“Breaking Bad” television, we’ve been laboring through a small-screen dry spell with only Lena Dunham to keep the party alive (a smooth bit of scheduling from HBO that ensured “Girls” an unwavering spotlight).

Though streaming giant Netflix has the cable network in its crosshairs, it still has a long way to go before it reaches the heights and grandeur of HBO. The network stands above all else on the small screen when it comes to programming, though many rival networks are starting to catch up. Over the weekend two new trailers arrived for two of the network’s hotly anticipated premieres.
