So, once again Hollywood studios are competing needlessly for properties based on public domain works. First there was the battle over last year's Snow White movies, and now comes a couple of flicks based on "The Jungle Book." Jon Faverau has his production at Disney, a live-action/animated take involving Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson, Bill Murray and newcomer Neel Sethi. Not to be outdone, Warner Bros. are lining up an equally star-studded cast for their rendition directed by Andy Serkis, which will be called "Jungle Book: Origins."

Mission: Impossible III Ving Rhames
In case you were worried about the continuity of the "Mission: Impossible" franchise, never fear: Ving Rhames will be back once again for "Mission: Impossible 5." Director Christopher McQuarrie confirmed the actor's return on Twitter, with Rhames reprising his Luther Stickell role.

Helen Mirren is circling “Trumbo,” a biopic about blacklisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo. Bryan Cranston is already attached to star as Trumbo, one of the greatest screenwriters of the 20th century, whose career abruptly ended when he refused to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) in 1947 during their investigation into Hollywood’s communist ties.
