Godzilla
"Godzilla" stomps into theatres tomorrow night, and while our own Rodrigo Perez didn't dig the film, saying that it "abandons most of its absorbing emotional legwork for a fairly rote and straightforward rock ‘em, sock ‘em monster movie," the latter quotient is what most people are likely for. And we suppose on that end, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' blockbuster will deliver. But in case you're on the fence about checking it out, some new promo material is here to kick you in the pants to buy a ticket.

Best Godzilla Movies Ranked
When talking about Godzilla movies, especially with diehard monster movie devotees, it's easy to forget (and rarely talked about in the open) that most of them are boring. Like really, really boring. Even the installments that feature multiple monsters, alien visitors, and tiny, nymph-like fairies are sluggishly paced, full of limp characterization and questionable plotting, so much so that putting together a top ten list of movies featuring the fearsome King of the Monsters was somewhat difficult, even though there are nearly 30 movies in the series' official canon. Still, we were up to the challenge. So kick back, relax, and think about all the tiny model cities that were destroyed in Godzilla's wake.

Godzilla 1998
In 1993 Steven Spielberg made the world squirm with delight with "Jurassic Park," and five years later, Roland Emmerich made audiences squirm with ... something that was not a delight with "Godzilla." Both featured giant lizards, but only one of them was good, and the latest Honest Trailer take down of the Roland Emmerich joint is on point.

Godzilla
After a host of expertly realized teasers and trailers—and then a few awkward product placement spots—director Gareth Edwards’ reimagining of “Godzilla” has finally screened for critics, and the initial reactions are somewhat mixed. It’s only a week before audiences get to decide for themselves however, and so WB has continued their marketing push with a new clip and TV spot.

Godzilla
Popular culture has obviously changed dramatically since 1954 when Toho Studios released Ishirō Honda’s inaugural kaiju movie, “Godzilla.” Originally a horror/science-fiction movie, “Godzilla” and the subsequent Toho Studio movies (all 28 of them), were never really big on character. Various scientists were always tasked with stopping the gigantic monster—or assisting him when he veered toward hero, facing off against rival “evil” monsters—but the draw was always the visual spectacle of Godzilla destroying and battling his way through each movie.

Godzilla
We suppose doing the product tie-ins for "Godzilla" wasn't the easiest job in the world. You'd probably want your brand as close to the titular monster as possible, but that being said, whatever product is being hawked probably has a good chance of being destroyed. But that didn't stop Fiat.

Jaws
We are just under two weeks away from the new “Godzilla” movie coming out in theaters worldwide and, despite being released in the same month as “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” this seems to be the movie people are most excited about. A big reason for that has been the film’s buzzworthy trailers. But, as you might expect, it was only a matter of time before someone on the Internet made some sort of “Godzilla” parody. One fan, in particular, had the nifty idea of mashing up sounds from the “Godzilla” trailer with images from the blockbuster classic “Jaws”—and the results are pretty entertaining.

Godzilla
Today in New York and Los Angeles, select critics got a chance to catch an early screening of "Godzilla," and as you might guess, everyone is under embargo for the moment about how the movie plays out. But Vulture danced lightly around that issue, by not addressing the movie specifically, but instead talking about the monster at the center of it. Or rather, how long it takes for the monster to show up.
