Perhaps a recap of the journey we've been on with "Gravity" is in order. Hell, just getting a cast in order is a story itself with Robert Downey Jr. and Angelina Jolie attached at various points, and after the latter left, a frantic search geared up to find a replacement for take the lead with Naomi Watts, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Marion Cotillard, Carey Mulligan, Sienna Miller, Abbie Cornish, Rebecca Hall, Olivia Wilde and Blake Lively all being rumored/considered/wishlisted before Sandra Bullock signed on, followed shortly by George Clooney.

We've waited. And waited, and waited and waited, patiently enduring release date delays, hoping for footage to appear or even an official still from the movie to arrive, only to be forever left in the cold. But Warner Bros, finally Alfonso Cuaron's "Gravity" is to be released this fall, knows they have a captive audience, hence the teasing before the trailer drops tomorrow. We've already seen a few seconds of actual material from the movie and now comes the first poster to keep the excitement from boiling over.

Alfonso Cuarón's long-awaited follow-up to 2006's "Children of Men"is finally here. Or at least the trailer is. Or wait, that's coming Thursday. So what do we have in the meantime? Well, it's about 10 seconds or less of teaser footage from the upcoming trailer for "Gravity," Cuarón's outer space thriller starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Yes, you hate the tease of a tease. Understandably, so do we. But admittedly, this film has been in the works for so long now it is somewhat of a relief to finally see some evidence that it finally and actually exists.

After 6-9 months of fevered speculation and prognostication, the 2012/2013 awards season climaxed on Sunday night with the 85th Academy Awards, as Ben Affleck's "Argo" took Best Picture, Ang Lee won his second Best Director Oscar, Daniel Day-Lewis became the first person to win three Best Actor awards, Christoph Waltz took his second Supporting trophy in four years, and Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence won their first awards.

The Delayed Films Of 2013: Why They Were Pushed Back & Which Ones Will You Be Seeing?

This Friday sees the release of "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters "starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as the fairy tale brother/sister duo. The film shot in March 2011 (before Renner filmed either "The Avengers" or "The Bourne Legacy"), and was originally set to be released in March 2012, before Paramount pushed it back ten months to its current slot in the January wastelands. But 'Hansel & Gretel' is hardly the only case of a long-delayed film making it to theaters in 2013. For instance, "Gangster Squad" was pushed back from September 2012 to January 11th after the Aurora shootings, though it would have been a horrible film whatever time of year it was released. And the two are set to be followed by a fairly staggering twenty-five films from major studios that have already been pushed back somewhere between five and thirteen months, many of them accompanied by serious production troubles and well-publicized reshoots.

Alfonso Cuarón's 'Gravity' Finally Scores October 4th Release Date

Some two years in the making and add another two for development (at least), Alfonso Cuarón's "Gravity" has finally scored an October 4, 2013 release date. Originally pegged for a November 2012 release, Warner Bros. took it off last year's calendar for unspecified reasons, but most presumed this was due to the VFX-heavy nature of the film that was shot completely in soundstages and in 3D. Starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, "Gravity" has been a long time coming and so much so it's taken on mythic proportions in some corners fo the blogosphere that have declared it a kind of Kubrick-ian return. It probably doesn't hurt that Cuarón hasn't made a movie since 2006's "Children of Men." Six years between movies will create legend and buzz.

Shot way back in 2011 and originally slated to be released next month by Warner Bros. before being pushed to a still unknown 2013 date, word has been deafeningly quiet around Alfonso Cuarón's "Gravity." With nothing in the way of stills or posters, the movie is still somewhat of a mystery, though it does seem like we're inching slowly toward some fresh news about the movie.

Test screenings are as old as Hollywood itself, but in this age of instant reactions, that process is even more fraught for filmmakers. Before a movie is even edited or shaped by a director, a test screening can -- for better or worse -- create buzz about a film, even if it's not yet in the form the director intends. And you really only have to look at CinemaCon, which featured brief amounts of finished footage from upcoming films, to see the hyperbole thrown around even if it's based a small portion of the film. Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" became a worry because of it's use of 48 frames-per-second photography, while the Oscars were already being awarded to Ang Lee's "Life Of Pi." Now, one more highly anticipated movie is getting judged before well before it has been completed.
