So Cannes is underway, with Woody Allen's "Midnight In Paris" kicking things off, to surprisingly excellent notices -- if you haven't read our review yet, our man thought it was one of Allen's best efforts in quite some time. But does it mean that the images and clips from the films unspooling in the South of France are done? Of course it doesn't.

Almodovar, Paolo Sorrentino, Takashi Miike, The Dardenne Brothers & Lynne Ramsay; Also In Line-Up; 'Pirates 4,' 'Kung Fu Panda 2' & 'The Beaver' To Play Out Of CompetitionThis morning brought one of the moments on the calendar that every serious film lover awaits with bated breath: the announcement of the line-up for this year's Cannes Film Festival, still the most prestigious on the circuit. Year after year, some of the world's best directors hold off to debut their new films on the Croisette, and virtually every year brings at least one stone-cold classic -- along, of course, with the famous Cannes bombs. With last year's selection generally deemed to be the weakest in a while, has this year's batch (the 64th!) turned things around? We've heard the rumors for months now, and we knew that Woody Allen's latest, "Midnight in Paris," would be opening the festival on May 11th, but little solid fact otherwise. So -- how's it looking?

Just one day to go until Thierry Fremaux reveals the full lineup of films set to unspool at this year's Cannes Film Festival and a couple more titles have been announced in advance of the fest. Joining "The Tree Of Life" and "Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" -- both of which are set to screen out of competition -- are two more titles, one arthouse fave and one blockbuster movie for everyone else.

Now this is more like it, frankly. When Sony Pictures had control of Gus Van Sant's romantic drama "Restless" under its purview, the film curiously was slotted in the throwaway January season (January 25 to be exact), which seemed fairly odd for a picture from a two-time Oscar nominee, considering his last film "Milk" earned eight Academy Award nominations in 2008.

Also Has Another Film In The Can With A Score By Michael StipeDoes James Franco sleep? It seems this guy spends every waking moment being productive and at the rate of his output, he'll have enough work to start filling his own museum and frankly, we wouldn't be surprised if he built one. The James Franco Museum Of James Franco Stuff. Yeah, we could dig that.

Plus Barry Pepper Talks The Untitled Malick DramaThe renaissance of Ben Affleck continues apace. After some impressive supporting roles in the likes of "Hollywoodland" and "Extract" and a burgeoning directorial career, the actor -- whose career was not so long ago in severe trouble -- booked a role in Terrence Malick's untitled new drama. It's a part any actor dreams of having, and as it turns out, Affleck and Malick aren't complete strangers.

After being surprisingly pulled from a planned January 28th release late last month, it sounds like there's already movement happening behind the scenes of Gus Van Sant's quirky teenage romancer "Restless" which stars Henry Hopper, son of Dennis, and Mia Wasikowska.
