Until then, we will continue to get inundated with TV spots, posters, and clips of Hans Zimmer’s score. So, the question remains, are you excited yet? No? When “Man of Steel” was first announced, one of the big question marks was how a new composer would escape from the long shadow cast by John Williams’ classic score for the Richard Donner-helmed film. If the roughly ten minutes of score we’ve heard so far are any indication, Hans Zimmer is doing a great job at creating something as heroic as the iconic theme yet as propulsive and moody as his top-notch work for Christopher Nolan. Thirty more seconds from Zimmer’s score has arrived online along with a new banner.

Listen, we poke as much fun at Hans Zimmer's BRAAAM-ing of the movies as anyone, but the truth is that his scores generally rule. His work for Christopher Nolan is exceptional, adding to the gravitas the filmmaker was aiming for both in his Batman trilogy and the dream-world thriller "Inception." His pieces can both be propulsive and moody, evocative and eerie but they usually can't be ignored. They are are mostly a key ingredient of whatever project he's involved with and that seems to be no different with "Man Of Steel."

Eight time Oscar nominee -- winning for "The Lion King" in 1995 -- recent years have seen Hans Zimmer mostly in blockbuster mode. For Christopher Nolan, he's tuned up "Inception," "The Dark Knight" trilogy and the forthcoming "Man Of Steel," he's given Captain Jack Sparrow some bounce in three of the four "Pirates Of The Caribbean" movies, and this year alone he's already delivered music for hit mini-series "The Bible" with work on "Rush" and "The Lone Ranger" around the corner. But a slavery drama? We didn't see this coming.

So, with pretty much everything under wraps surrounding the actual plot of "Man Of Steel," and likely to remain that way until opening day, we'll have to take what we can get. And in this case, fans may be turning to the soundtrack to try and glean any kind of info on what Christopher Nolan, David Goyer and Zack Snyder have cooked up for the highly anticipated Superman reboot.

"What's the most resilient parasite? An idea." Little did Christopher Nolan know when he wrote that line, he’d need to add an addendum: an idea that keeps getting pickpocketed over and over again until it loses meaning and ownership, and becomes simply background noise to the general cultural conversation. It's appropriate, when you think about it, and something that Cobb (and team Nolan) would likely appreciate, that the memory of this ubiquitous sound's origins are slowly fading away. The Hans Zimmer-composed ominous pitched-down “Inception” horn blast, known as “The 'Inception' BRAAAM" (number of 'r's and 'a's may vary) has been resilient indeed, an idea homaged, appropriated and straight-up nicked time and time again since its... wait for it... inception.

Christopher Nolan may stand as Hans Zimmer’s choice of cinematic collaborator these days, but for a good stretch of more than a decade, Zimmer and Ridley Scott cut a string of iconic projects, starting with 1989’s “Black Rain” through to ventures like “Gladiator” and “Black Hawk Down.” The 1991 classic, “Thelma and Louise,” proved one of their early successes on that timeline, and now a rare interview with both men reflects their approach toward the unique material on show.

Michael Caine routinely threatens retirement, and there's always the possibility that his next film will be his last (especially after the actor turned 80 last week; read our pick of his best performances here), but frankly we don't see it coming any time soon, nor can we imagine him ever saying no to Christopher Nolan. As well as Louis Leterrier's "Now You See Me," Caine has Sandra Nettelbeck's ("Mostly Martha," "Helen") "Mr. Morgan's Last Love" set for release in 2013, and now we have some new posters, images and one very interesting new update about the project

We haven't paid attention to the Grammys in years, mostly because it's irrelevant, these days we're barely familiar with half the nominees, and the show is usually pure tedium. (Don't even get us started on that Beach Boys tribute thing last year.) But for movie buffs looking to maintain their awards season high, yesterday's announcement of Grammy nominees did bring with it some films that are looking to collect gold from their pals in the music biz.

It looks like "ABC World News" -- for those that will watch national news telecasts -- got a makeover recently, with some snazzy new graphics, a fresh logo and more, but the biggest change that film nerds will want to take note of is the show's theme. It has been redone by none other than "The Dark Knight" and "Inception" composer Hans Zimmer.
