Summer TV Preview: 2014
Did you know that in the 70 days since April 6th, the world’s population has increased by about 15,690,000 people, which is roughly equivalent to the current combined populations of Pennsylvania and Iowa? Of course not! That’s just one of the fascinating things that has been happening on our planet while we were all too busy anticipating, watching, critiquing and dissecting Season 4 of “Game of Thrones” to notice (find all our ‘Thrones’ coverage here). But with what is probably the show’s most controversial season coming to its end last night (finale recap), paradoxically—or maybe not, following the “no such thing as bad publicity” paradigm—on a probable viewership high, our Sunday evenings for the next few months are suddenly free: a gaping maw of endless exciting possibilities. Why not schedule an extra SoulCycle class, polish up that rusty Spanish or study world population expansion?

With "Game Of Thrones" kicking off last night and "Mad Men" just around the corner, there is plenty of great TV to watch at the moment, but there is a drawback of having to wait week-by-week for each new episode. If you're looking for something to binge on, help is on the way.

You gotta hand it to Netflix -- their major foray into original programming is leaving no stone unturned. Last month we got the political drama "House Of Cards," and later this spring the Bluths return in the long-awaited "Arrested Development," but sandwiched in between, the streaming company is hoping to lure horror fans with another piece of unique programming: the Eli Roth-produced "Hemlock Grove." And a new trailer is here teasing sex, monsters and all sorts of hair-raising drama.

Anyone who read Brian McCreevy's monstrously clever horror novel "Hemlock Grove" knows what viewers are in for when the Eli Roth-produced Netflix series is unleashed in April. For everyone else, you're going to get a pretty good idea, thanks to a brand new trailer for the series that just debuted online. Television is having something of a horror moment, between "The Walking Dead," "True Blood" and "American Horror Story," and it looks like those viewers who still have a thirst for blood will have something to look forward to.
