And The Less Said About Them, The BetterWell, they can't all be winners. Sometimes an artist or designer (like Drew Struzan in the '80s or Neil Kellerhouse today) is allowed to execute his creative vision and creates a piece of artwork for a film that becomes as iconic as the film itself. And sometimes an intern who knows Photoshop has to slap some faces on a poster to let people know who's in the movie. Unfortunately the three posters arriving today look to be veering towards the latter. "Bad Teacher," based on a Black List script by "The Office" scribes Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, stars Cameron Diaz as a foul-mouthed child-beating teacher. We're cautiously optimistic about the film based on what we've seen so far and this poster featuring Diaz asleep at her desk with an apple that says "Eat Me" does nothing to sway us either way. It's a decent teaser poster (though the "She doesn't give an "F"." looks like an afterthought) but we'd expect to see something with costar Justin Timberlake's face on it before it's June 17th debut.

Ok, you can't really anticipate a film if you've already seen it, right? And while that doesn't apply for every member of The Playlist, many of us were lucky enough to get early sneak peeks at 2011 by attending film festivals around the globe like the Cannes, Toronto and Vancouver Film Festivals, the Melbourne Film Festival, the London Film Festival and more; yes, we're global. We basically ran through our lists of the films coming out in 2011 that we've already seen and made a list of 27 worth discussing. Not all of them are great, some are downright terrible, and some are pictures you should absolutely go out of your way to see. It's a mixed bag, much like a film festival generally is, but consider it our user's guide to the 2011 films we know the most about; and take the info to follow under consideration when shelling out your hard-earned dollar. We're here for you, really.

After bearing with it at TIFF, we would prefer if we weren't reminded about it ever again, but a trailer has arrived for the bank heist/romcom "Henry's Crime" starring Keanu Reeves and don't let the jazzy tone and throwaway quips fool you.
