The Equalizer
Sony is very high on their fall Denzel Washington vehicle "The Equalizer." An adaptation of the Edward Woodward-starring TV classic (particularly beloved of Rob Reiner in "The Wolf Of Wall Street"), it made the Black List while only in script form, initially attracted the attention of hot directors like Nicolas Winding Refn and Rupert Wyatt, and the film's apparently attracted some of the best test scores in the company's history, enough so that they've already put a sequel into development.

Brilliance Will Smith
Having just wrapped on the Glenn Ficarra/John Requa comedy “Focus,” it looks like Will Smith is ready to give the sci-fi genre another chance. He’s in talks to lead “Brilliance,” which is based on the Marcus Sakey novel of the same name. In a world where one percent of all children are born as “brilliants,” Will Smith plays federal agent Nick Cooper, a fellow brilliant who’s especially gifted at hunting down terrorists. But in order to track down a brilliant that’s been deemed the most dangerous man alive, Cooper will have to violate everything he believes in.

"The Guest"
With last month's Sundance Film Festival, and the forthcoming Berlin Film Festival presenting that lineups that mostly lean toward more serious fare, SXSW is something of a more playful cousin to those two. With a looser vibe, and a spirit that syncs with the warming weather than tends to put everyone in a better mood, and the Midnight screenings are where you'll want to be to let it all out.

With the future for “The Girl Who Played With Fire” still uncertain — “Seven” screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker was reported to have taken a crack at the script last summer — and only “Bond 24” to look forward to, Daniel Craig doesn’t have a lot on his plate but Variety reports that’s about to change.
