In the works for a while now, "Horrible Bosses 2" seemed inevitable. The first film – great concept, pretty dull execution – powered its way to over $200 million worldwide. So no surprise that at the beginning of 2012, word first started burbling about a sequel, and by the summer, Seth Gordon was being offered the director's chair to return. Well, he's back, as are the three principal leads.

Even though it managed to break the $200 million barrier at the box office on a $35 million budget, the cold critical reception that greeted Seth Gordon's "Horrible Bosses" saw it fall short of the bar raised by other recent summer comedy blockbusters like "The Hangover" and "Bridesmaids." That performance, however, will evidently be more than enough for New Line to work with, as the wheels are now well and truly in motion on a sequel to the 2011 pic.

While everyone likes to trumpet the summer success stories of "The Hangover Part II" and "Bridesmaids," one other R-rated comedy fared quite well also, though it hasn't been mentioned as often. "Horrible Bosses" was also a super-sized smash, with the workplace comedy scoring over $200 million worldwide, all on a minimal budget of $35 million. It seems people really like to see bosses getting their commeupance. Well, fans will be happy to know, the trio of Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis will once again face unruly employers as New Line is moving ahead with a sequel.
