Something's in the air. The days are getting longer. The weather's getting warmer. Your IQ is dropping by the day. That's right, it's the start of the summer movie season! The critical darlings that get you through the winter moments are a thing of the past, replaced by CGI-packed blockbusters, comedies and the occasional kids' flick, designed principally as a way of tempting you into an air conditioned theater to spend money on ice cream and nachos.

Warner Bros. Also Releases New Photos Of 'Green Lantern' & 'Something Borrowed'Let's begin with the most interesting photos, descending down to the least interesting ones -- and that's not a slight, but we have seen some of these before in some shape or form. Warner Bros. has served up a few new promo images from their summer schedule and like the good trained seals we are, well.... you get it (insert smiley here).

We're heading towards a veritable cluster-fuck of foul-mouthed comedies this summer, with "Bridesmaids" already picking up good buzz from SXSW, and "The Hangover 2" following swiftly behind, with "The Change-Up," "30 Minutes or Less," "Friends With Benefits" and "Bad Teacher" bringing up the rear. We've seen glimpses of most of these now, but there's one more in the pack as well, and it might actually be the most promising of them all.

Alright, continuing with our Most Anticipated Films of 2011 series which will roughly be in four parts (unfortunately, character/size limits prevent us from doing one massive feature). Here's part one which we published yesterday. If you're wondering where some of the tentpoles were yesterday -- "X-Men: First Class," "Cowboys And Aliens" and "Sherlock Holmes" -- well, they're here. If you were asking, whether indie-driven auteurs would be represented -- Lynne Ramsay's return with "We Need To Talk About Kevin," Mike Mills' "Beginners" or David Cronenberg's "A Dangerous Method" -- well, they're all here too. The way these lists are lumped together is a bit arbitrary, so don't fret, lots and lots more Most Anticipated Films of 2011.

Plus A First Look Photo Of 'Crazy, Stupid, Love'While everyone is turning off the phone, putting down the Blackberry, wrapping presents and getting ready to slow down for the holidays, Warner Bros. is busily making some last minute adjustments to their 2011 schedule before clocking out for the year. The studio has settled on and retweaked the release dates to four upcoming pictures and done some general shuffling around.

It's almost December, which means that 2010 is already starting to sneak out from under the covers, before putting its clothes on and disappearing forever. That in turn means that the studios are starting to send out their promotional materials for their 2011 slates. Between these and the 2011 previews from the likes of Empire and EW, we're going to get a lot of first looks at pictures in the next few weeks, so fans of film stills, synopses, or movie blogs desperately trying to pad out otherwise thin posts should keep their eyes peeled in the run up to Christmas.
