'Circumstance' & 'Buck' Win Audience AwardsSundance officially closes tomorrow, but tonight the awards were handed out in grand fashion in ceremonies presided over by Tim Blake Nelson, who arrived dressed up as a snowflake. While there were a number of strong films competing this year in the U.S. Dramatic Competition including "Homework," "Take Shelter," "Pariah," and "Martha Marcy May Marlene," it was Drake Doremus' tale of long distance love "Like Crazy" that grabbed the Grand Jury Prize. The film, which has earned a string of positive notices out of the festival (including one from our man on the ground James Rocchi), also snagged a Special Jury Prize in acting for Felicity Jones -- somewhat surprising given the whirl of buzz surrounding Elizabeth Olsen for "Martha Marcy May Marlene." However, that film wasn't entirely left out in the cold as Sean Durkin won the Directing Award. Audiences however, tipped their hat to a different film entirely with "Circumstance" -- a tale of forbidden love in Iran -- earning it the Audience Award.
