"Songs From District 12 And Beyond" reads the subheading of the forthcoming "Hunger Games" soundtrack, when leads us to think that not all of these songs will make the cut into the movie. But, no matter, as the full tracklist for the disc has been revealed and it's certainly eclectic, and if it turns some tweens onto some decent music that isn't Skrillex or Karmin (who we didn't know existed until "Saturday Night Live" this weekend), then we can't complain.

While "Hunger Games" fans implore anyone who'll listen that it's totally different from the "Twilight" franchise, they can't deny that Lionsgate is following the Summit playbook. The marketing rollout is pretty much targeting the exact same demographic in almost the same way (epic story combined with feelings), and that goes right down to the soundtrack as well. While the film is just over a month away, no final tracklist has been revealed yet, but the pieces are starting to come together.

The "Hunger Games" will begin in just over a month, and Lionsgate will either have the next big teen franchise on their hands...or not. Fans have been very vocal, concerned and excited in equal measure for the adaptation of their beloved books by Suzanne Collins (yep, "Catching Fire" is already slated for a 2013 release) and this new trailer -- easily the best of the bunch so far -- won't stop the chatter from continuing.

While Lenny Kravitz has dominated the stage as a musician for years, his recent transition to the big screen has been a fascinating journey to follow. The burgeoning actor made his movie debut in Lee Daniels' "Precious," and it was pretty far from the charismatic persona he developed as an axe slinger and singer. Playing the sympathetic Nurse John, his performance showed a sensitivity and depth that was a pleasant surprise. And he's changing things up once again, swinging from an indie film to franchise project, playing Cinna in the forthcoming "The Hunger Games."

It seems each new look at "Hunger Games" brings with it even more outrageous costume design and makeup. If this is a dystopian future, it seems fashion designers are ruling the world. Tracksuits! Those wigs! Well get ready for another feast of stichery!

Now that we're well into 2012, more and more is being revealed about some of the year's biggest films, thanks in part to Entertainment Weekly. The magazine's annual 2012 preview issue has already provided some key first looks at various upcoming releases, including "The Dark Knight Rises." Not everything is quite as rabidly anticipated as Christopher Nolan's third Batman film, but there's plenty more spectacle where that came from. Indeed, one of the newest images contains what looks to be the most incredible, gravity-defying special effect of the year: Amanda Seyfried's bubble-perm.

With any franchise that's based on younger actors, getting a steady stream of films is crucially important; without a "Harry Potter" or "Twilight" film every eighteen months or so, you end up with a lead creeping up on their thirties by the time the series comes to an end. And so it goes with "The Hunger Games," Lionsgate's great hope for the next big teen-friendly franchise. With a ready-made trilogy of books from author Suzanne Collins, there's source material already in place, and even though the first film, written and directed by "Seabiscuit" helmer Gary Ross, won't hit theaters for a couple of months yet, the studio is already making plans for a sequel.
